State Farm Insurance - Agent - Mark Headrick

I am very unimpressed with this agent, and what I believe is highly unethical behavior.

I visited the office in March 2014 for a quote on insuring a motorcycle I had just purchased. The quote was reasonable, so I signed up AND PAID on the spot for the policy.

A few weeks later, I received a letter from StateFarm advising that as an additional $54 had not been paid, my policy would be revoked in within 2 weeks.

I returned to Marks office, and was advised that they had incorrectly priced the policy and that their underwriting department had therefore added an additional fee that I would be liable for.

Mark went on to blame state of California for dictating the price of premiums, and said that although they had made an error, I was still liable to pay the extra amount otherwise my policy would become void. This is like purchasing a new car, and the dealer calling you 2 months later to tell you they made a mistake and you must therefore pay them another $1,000 to keep your car!

I think this is a highly unethical and deceptive practice, and I have therefore requested a full refund on the policy (have not received it at time of wrtiting) and will be taking my business elsewhere from here on.
