Scarfone's Pizzeria

Three visits to the restaurant, the first two with mediocre experiences, the third was the worst. On the third visit, we were seated right away but a server never came to our table to even take drink orders for 15 mins. We ordered a glass of water and coke and followed up with an order for a large pizza, half mahgharita (dubbed as Frankie's Special) and half hawaiian.



The drinks came another 10 mins later but we were served two glasses of water and my coke never appeared. I finished my water within a few mins of waiting for our pizza but was never offered a refill. Another 15 mins passed (almost a half hour after we ordered at this point) and our pizza came...incorrect. It was half mahgharita, half cheese and I was still not offered a refill. I inform the server about the wrong pizza and they bring it back to the kitchen. Our pizza came back again another 15 mins later and it was clear that they did not remake it. The hawaiian ingredients were thrown onto the cheese half and it was placed in the fire. This ended up burning the crust and the ingredients on this half never settled into the cheese. The server set this awful burnt second-hand pizza down and walks away never refilling my still empty glass.



We try one slice of our separate halves and surprisingly, it is cold despite having been in the oven twice. We have been sitting almost an hour and are left to eat cold burnt pizza. I ask to speak with a manager and the owner's son comes to greet me. I inform him of the lack of service and poor quality of the meal and he responds to me with an angry tone. I finally say that I hope he does not expect me to pay for hardly ever being served and given a pizza that is unappetizing, recycled, and burnt. He looks at the pizza and says that we have eaten two slices and that he will not take that off the check. At this point I just want to leave so I say "Fine..." and before I can add to my sentence, he walks away. He returns with the check and slaps it on the table and before he rushes off to most likely listen to another table's complaint, he tells me to just leave a $20 bill. I look at the check and it is priced at $20.63.



So in the end, he took off $0.63 to make up for horrible service and burnt pizza. I wouldn't have minded to pay for the two slices we ate but to charge us for the whole pizza was absurd. I can now fully understand why the restaurant is nearly empty on a daily basis.
