Ack's Exotic Pets

Perhaps knowledgable staff (and admittedly friendly)- but if they are knowledgable, they sure aren't putting that to good use in the reptile department though! The uromastyx were emaciated, the sulcatas were pyramiding, the collared and horned lizards were living among more piles of feces than I cared to count, there was mixing of species with totally different temp/humidity requirements, and the list goes on in the other departments (the fennec fox had a gaping wound, large parrots were living in cockatiel-sized cages, etc). I was looking for a clean, caring alternative to a chain pet store but what I found was WORSE! I was appalled and refused to support them even with a few dollars worth of crickets. The only thing they DO have going for them is they don't sell aquatic turtles, puppies or kittens (wouldn't want to see the conditions of these if they did!)

Made a purchase this week and was happy to see a store owner very knowledgeable about the animal I purchased. This store is not like chain pet stores-it's great!

Wonderful! It is about time a good pet store came to the Syracuse area. Not only is the staff helpful they honestly care about more than a buck. Carl has provided a great service to this area. He is always willing to help educate the public about exotic pets. Thank you Carl for bringing a positive light to the exotic pet industry.

This is by far the best Exotic Pet Store in Syracuse, they actually know what they are doing. They are always friendly and there for any questions you have. The animals all are so healthy and extremely well taken care of, the way a pet store should be!! I will never go to another Exotic Pet Store again.
