I took my son there today who is visiting from Colorado. We ate before we went because of the reviews. We shared an order of chicken diablo which was very good. It wasn’t very busy because it was a weekday and the other businesses sharing that location weren’t even opened. The food, the service, and the drinks were very good. The scenery was beautiful and our waiter was friendly and efficient. (A you guy named Chris) Only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I felt they were overpriced.

Horrifying service. Decent food. Good view. Price of food too high for quality. We couldn't decide if the waiter was high, or just didn't care... Also food delivery slow and pretty much incompetent.

I don't know how it was back in 2010 but its really good now. The food and service is great and I love the view and location.

Don't waste your time unless all you want is to see the sunset. The staff at the front desk are a bunch of sarcastic, terrible attitude people. You get the impression they don't care if you return ....WHICH I WILL NEVER DO AGAIN...and the facility is filthy.

Don't work there. The managers ate worthless. They don't follow up, they play favorites and they are two faced

Great Scene...Food is worthless

It is so true...The only thing amazing about this place is the view you get especially during Sunset. It is truly awesome.

Other than that. The food is not that fantastic and the prices are to high for the quality of the food. Besides the prices, some people are driving from as little as 15 minutes up to an hour to go there and its just not worth the drive at all.

Its really disappointing.

Horrible food and service

The food is bad. The service is bad. The prices are expensive. Definitely a tourist trap.

Beautiful Sunset

No matter how bad the food could ever get...Oasis is the best place for watching sunsets. Actually, the last 4 times in the past year, the food has been good. Not excellent but much better than it was a few years ago. A change in cooks, maybe?
I keep going back for the view and the atmosphere but glad that I also enjoy the food, too!

Worst Food Ever--Seriously

Absolutely the worst fajitas I have EVER had. No joking. The WORST EVER. I just thought the reviews were full of people who were exaggerating. We went, sat down at an amazing view, and then had some great drinks. At this point I was like, ""Yep the other people were full of it, this place rocks"" And then the food Just WOW. I have never in my life had fajitas that bad. I had a friend who got drunk one time and boiled the fajita meat instead of grilling it--these were worse. DO NOT GO HERE TO EAT. However, go eat somwhere else and think of this place as a really cool bar and you will be in good shape. Seriously, don't ruin your good time by eating food at this place.

Improved Service and Improved Food

I have been an Austinite for nearly 25 years and recently relocted to north Austin. A few weeks ago, in need of a margarita and a relaxing evening I was advised by a friend to revisit the Oasis(since I hadn't in about 6 years). I was amazed at the job they did rebuilding after the fire and the size of the new building. Not only that, but the girls at the front desk were beaming and eager to tell me all about the new bulding and the owner's future plans for a shopping center on the property. My waitress(I believe her name was Clair) was prompt and friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. Her suggestions turned out to be big crowd pleasers. The food was much better than I remembered! The queso, mango tilapia, and beef fajitas were a big hit. Overall, I was greatly impressed with the service, the food, and of course the view...from start to finish!

We drove out for brunch today. They list a Hatch Chiles omelet> I have never seen a smaller ombet. Could it have been a 1 egg omlet? Also, where were the hatch chiles? It was easy to try and find them with such a small omelet. We found 1 very small, piit would of diced hatch, we think. That one little peice could have fit on top of a pencil eraser.
I have what they called huge breakfast tacos. When finally came out, it was 2 small flour tortillas, small spoonful of egg and some unmelted shreded cheese. WHAT A JOKE! I hve never had anything so tasteless.
I know this is a tourist trap, but you would think they could at least have mediocre food so locals would come out ocassionally. I will never recommend this restaurant, but will definitely people to stay away!

Total waste of time and money

Other than the view there is nothing to be had here. Its like you pay for the view and that's it! So we paid $32 for 2 people to sit for 1 1/2 hr waiting for our bland cold food to see a setting sun.

Yeah that sums up our trip to Oasis.

VIEW IS THE BEST Owner needs to revamp music with JAZZ on sunday like they used to do with KJAZZ/ Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes who have been playing at the speakeasy down.

Go for the sunset!!!!

The Osis is the place you want to be if you are looking for a magnificent sunset! At sunset the bell rings and the crowd cheers. It is a very unique and impressive atmoshere on lake travis! Overlooking the lake and the many boaters, great for kids too! Drinks are good food ok, but worth every bit of the travel to lake travis. If you go no where else go here!
