King Neptune

My family and I were looking for some really good seafood, while on our family vacation in Wrightsville beach, sadly we didn't get it here. We were drawn to King Neptune after reading about it in our hotel room and also online. Everyone arrived hungry but left sick.



We had 3 children with us under the age of 12 and we all really enjoyed the children's menu and were impressed that a local 5th grade class designed it for the restaurant. We were unimpressed that the children drinks were not included and that refills for everything but iced tea and water was a $1 charge. All the drinks were served in tiny glasses, packed with ice,(the adults included) and our waiter was nowhere to be seen when we did indeed need a refill. When a member of our party did show our waiter that the kid's drinks were all ice, our waiter developed quite an attitude with us, reminded us that the refills were only $1 and stormed off to get the manager. The remainder of our service was spent with other wait staff taking care of us.



The service was slow and the food was even slower. To say the food was mediocre would be a real compliment. Again, two of the children got the dinosaur chicken nuggets, which only had 4. The other child's meal was a hot dog and the bun was stale. The adult meals were terrible as well. So bad infact, three of us left and made a mad dash to our hotel bathroom.



We thought we were walking into a real "locals only" seafood restaurant, as far as I am concerned, let the locals have it!

OMG I had heard the Crab Dip here was good but I was unprepared for how FABULOUS this was. I've been eating crab dip for a long time - but this was the best I've ever had. It's got some cheese, and a bit of a zip to it and is served with baked pita points that happen to be my favorite w/crab dip.



Well worth putting on your list of taste sensations!

What a delightful restaurant and bar! Wait staff was charming and knowledgeable especially in the tiki bar. Welcolming, professional and serving up delicious beverages!
