Overall

Heartland Home Care was thought to be an exceptional home health care agency until they actually began to "work". Before long, aides were found to be sitting in a separate room from my Mother most of the day playing on their cellphones. There were many times when they wouldn't even show and didn't call to advise they couldn't make it to the house.

In essence, I thought they were looking after my Mom but never even showed. My Mom went without food for the entire day and had no assistance in getting to the bathroom.

My Mom had a mini stroke and while at the E/R, a catheter needed to be inserted. The nurse at the hospiatal advised me my Mom was covered in feces which evidently had been there for days. As a result, my Mom developed a urinary tract infection.

When I learned this, I immdiately called and advised Andrea of the circumstances and I would no longer be using their services. She simply said "OK, Thank you" and hung up the phone. A complete disregard of what the aides were doing (and not doing).

My next complaint will be with Medicare, the Virginia Department of Health and Adult Protective Services
