Smoking Cessation
Fortunately, most patients with BE won't develop esophageal cancer and the use of acid blockers have been established as a good treatment option to control acid reflux as well as to reduce the risk of dysplasia development. In addition to acid blockers other lifestyles modifications will help to reduce esophageal acid exposure including weight loss, smoking cessation, dietary changes and elevation of head of the bed.

Dr. Israel Crespo was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His Medical School Alma Mater is Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Medical Science Campus. He finished his residency in Gastroenterology on Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. In 1995, he moved to Tampa when he joined Dr. Rosario's practice. Dr. Crespo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has more than twenty-three years of experience in Gastrointestinal Diagnostics/Diseases and Therapeutic procedures. He enjoys golf, traveling, and is a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church since 1996; where he belongs to the Hispanic Choir.

Dr. Angel M. Rosario was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Dr. Rosario School of Medicine Alma Mater is Cayey School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He finished his gastroenterology residency in Washington Hospital in Washington D.C. and moved to Tampa in 1991. He has more than 26 years of experience in Gastrointestinal Diagnostics/Diseases and Therapeutic procedures. He enjoys golf and traveling with his family, and the History Channel.
