Chestnut Lake Apartments

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! This place is a complete joke and they do not value their tenants at all. I have lived here 3 times for a total of 4 years collectively. I have never been a problem tenant and I always pay my rent on time if not a few days early. The new owners, Forest City, are drastically changing the complex and not necessarily for the better. Due to the change in owners my boyfriend and I were asked to complete renewal applications. We were told today that our applications were denied due to a criminal charge my boyfriend had over 7 years ago. He has never had or been in any trouble since. We now have 30 days to find a new place, pack up, and leave. Good to know that 4 years of perfect tenancy is worth nothing over a criminal charge 7 years old. Half the time nothing in the place works anyway and it's a god awful disgusting mess. Broken elevators, broken heat, broken AC units, broken closets, broken washers and dryers, constant plumbing/water issues, urine and trash in the stairwells and elevators. Save your money and go elsewhere. Not worth your time!

If you want to live the dream with a drunk ----- neighbor...than this is the home for you!



My "neighbor" in #106 is just that. Every weekend she is drunk whoring the hallways or screaming obscenities at the other residents or her latest guy of the weekend. 



Every other weekend she has her 2 young kids visit and she gets drunk and screams obscenities at them. At all hours of the day and night.



Just last night she was wasted and locked herself and kids out of the apartment. She was in the hallway in her underwear with these 2 boys screaming drunken slurred obscenities and threats at them, even hitting them at one point. One of the kids got so scared he pulled the fire alarm. The whole building had to be evacuated. Police showed up and DID NOT arrest this pathetic excuse for a woman. 



This type of activity happen EVERY weekend and is IGNORED by management and the police alike. Apparently as long as management gets their money they don't care about the drug and ----- dens they condone. 



I have lived here for 2 years and am moving next month when my lease expires. I recommend spending the extra money and renting from a nicer community down the street.
