Comprehensive Examination
Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Peticote Veterinary Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Pain Management
Anything that causes pain in people can be expected to cause pain in animals. Pets may not show the same symptoms of pain as people do; they usually don't whine or cry, but you can be sure they feel it. Pain medications needed will depend on the surgery performed. Major procedures require more pain relief than things like minor lacerations.
Vomiting Treatment
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
At Peticote, we are using the latest form of laser therapy for many of our cases! It is a drug and surgery free method for treating post surgical pain and many of the conditions we see at the clinic. Laser therapy can be used for joint/hip pain, stifle injuries, ear infections, lick granulomas, mouth pain, and wound treatment. In just one treatment session, pets experience pain and inflammation relief, reduced swelling, and nerve/cell regeneration used for tissue repair. There are no side effects and laser therapy has been shown to reduce healing time. One session can take less than 5 minutes! Please ask our technicians about how laser therapy can be used for your pet.

Heart Disease Treatment

It is recommended to brush a pet's teeth to prevent future plaque buildup and reduce the amount of bacteria in the bloodstream. If allowed to build up, these bacteria can cause heart disease and infection.
Kidney Disease Treatment
Fluids given underneath the skin are called subcutaneous fluids. This therapy method is used in correcting and preventing dehydration and helping to flush waste products through your pet's system. This type of therapy is commonly used in diseases such as chronic kidney failure.

Dr. Mallory Jacobs earned her B.S. from Rutgers University in 2014 and graduated from Oklahoma State University College Of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. After graduation she practiced small animal medicine in San Antonio, Texas for 3 years before she decided to return to her home state of New Jersey. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Jacobs worked at Peticote Veterinary Clinic as a kennel assistant, and is thrilled to return as an associate veterinarian. She particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery and wound management. She strives to educate her clients about pet health while providing the highest standard of care.

Dental Surgery
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
Veterinary Surgery
Spaying and Neutering
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery.

Lab and X-Rays

Laboratory Services
We offer three levels of in-house blood testing before surgery, which we will go over with you when you bring your pet in. Our doctors prefer the more comprehensive screen, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, additional blood tests, electrocardiograms, or x-rays may be required before surgery as well.

Senior Pet Care
Dr. Jeannette Pettit, daughter of William and Carolyn Pettit, is a full time practicing veterinarian at Peticote Veterinary Clinic. Jeannette obtained her B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell in 2004 and her DVM from Oklahoma State University in 2008. Jeannette is experienced in veterinary dental medicine and spent her first six years helping out at her father’s practice with many of his dental cases while practicing at Willingboro Veterinary Clinic. She is a big advocate for senior pet health and hopes to start up our Senior Program here at Peticote. Outside of work, Jeannette enjoys gardening, running, and horseback riding on the Peticote farm where she keeps her horses. Jeanette’s passion for riding earned her national recognition in 2014 for her reserve championship placement in the USHJA Zone 2 Finals in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania!
