Overall

Waterford Ridge is now Stonecrest. This property has been bought by another management company who let go the previous staff and brought in their own. It has gone downhill since. The new staff in unprofessional and inept. I had a vehicle parked in my assigned space for 3 days before they where able to move it. (If they even did, maybe owner just came on their own). I have been told that I will not be compensated for the loss of the use of the space that I pay for. I should not have to pay for the staff being inept at their job and not being able to identify the owner of the vehicle in violation or getting a tow truck to move it. I would not recommend renting here.

Overall

We moved here while we were building a house and was told could “opt out” of the lease and pay a two month penalty. At the time I thought the place was nice so I would pay the penalty to put my family in a place that was safe and well taken care of.



Started off noticing that the “well taken care of” part of that last statement was not true. The grounds are most of the time trashy and littered with dog poop. The dog stations were neglected and out of the baggies to dispose of the dog waste. One day noticed one of the kids that roam freely around the complex until all hours had thrown a yogurt drink on the wall of my building. Maintenance was notified but took their time getting around to cleaning it up. When they got to it two weeks later it was cemented to the wall, so they just painted over it. Big chunks of pink goo painted over....nice.



Now to the “safe” part. The police were called to an apartment about a month after we were there. No idea what happened but someone was carried away in handcuffs. The front gate of the complex was not working more times than it was so anyone could just come in and do whatever. Not that they couldn’t have figured out how to get in even with the gate working, everyone has the same code and it is worn into the keypad.



When I went to move out and give my notice I was told that they recently made a change to their policy and I would have to talk to someone at corporate, the office couldn’t even take my move out date. I waited two days for someone from corporate to call me, it turned out to be some clueless employee from the apartment office who gave me misinformation about my move out, saying I would have to pay 3 month penalty instead of two. So much for waiting for corporate and someone who has a clue as to what is going on.



I went into the office to sign my move out papers and was told by a not so nice employee that is was a privilege to have an opt out clause because many apartment complexes don’t have that at all......good to know.



On move out day, I called to have them do a final walk thru with me and was told they need a 24 hour notice for that. Well, that would have been good to know 24 hours ago! They kept me waiting, probably being punished for no notice, another 30 mins until they came to do the walk thru.



I received a letter from them three days after I moved showing my move out statement. On the bottom of the letter they stated I would be getting a refund of “x” within 30 days of the date of the letter. Why not just put the check in with this letter, who knows.



Thirty days, came and went and no check. I called them and they stated that they had received a bill for the carpets because my cat must have peed all over them. I informed them I didn’t have a cat, they said that it must have been my other pets but they were going to have to bill me for cleaning the carpets. I was there all of four months and my dogs didn’t have access to carpeted areas.



I would have been fine with that had they not sent me a letter stating I was getting a refund. No where on the letter did it say, “unless we find other things to charge you with”, would I not get a refund. They stated they had sent me a letter about the carpets. I asked to speak with the manager and she was not in the office that day, asked it they would have her call me the next day. I also asked for their corporate office telephone number to speak with someone about this issue, was told they didn’t have that number. When I asked why, I was told they never have had any issues where they had to give it out before. For some reason I find that hard to believe.



To this day, over a week later, I have not received the letter that was supposedly mailed to me or a phone call from the apartment manager or the property manager. I never write reviews but after this disgusting experience I felt it necessary.
