The Montecito Inn in Santa Barbara, Calif., was built in 1938 by cinema legend Charlie Chaplin. Located two blocks from the pristine Butterfly Beach, the hotel was originally used as an escape for Chaplin s closest friends. The bedrooms are decorated with classic patterns and furnishings in warm earth tones, as well as bathrooms hand-painted with ceramic tiles. It has seven luxury suites that feature large separate living rooms and bedroom areas custom-designed fireplaces and spacious Italian marble bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs.
