Russell's

Dropped by for lunch since I was in Pasadena. The wings for appetizer were great and Rye Burger was ok. Nice service & old town ambiance.

Wow - I came here thinking it was going to be just a plain, local diner, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is really good! I ordered the lamb shank with mashed potato's and green beans. The shank was roasted to perfection and it came with a side of fresh, homemade mint jelly. The mashed potato's were seriously rich and the greenbeans tasted like they came directly from the farme's market. Service was great and I'm looking forward to going back.

Had always overlooked this place amidst all the action in old pas. Turns out this place has good food and a nice old diner like charm. Definitely coming back for a weekend brunch

We love to visit Russell's for special occasions or everyday meals. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is very attentive. I especially like the corn beef hash for breakfast and the burgers at lunch.

I always order take out for breakfast, and today 03-07-2009, I called in an order for French Toast and side of Bacon the service person asked if I wanted the French Toast breakfast that comes with bacon and one egg. I replied sure. She asked me how I wanted my egg cooked. I said " sunny side up" . She said it would be about 10 min for the order . Since I was coming from a short distance I did not mind. But when I arrived , there is really not a Pick up sign and I stood by the register, I had my parking stub with me, so one of the waiters ( Blue Shirt) took my ticket and gave me the validation , I told him, " I came to pick up the french toast order, he asked about and told me it would come right up." And he went about his business. I was waited a few minutes, and then I stood near the counter and a waitress ( Blue shirt) asked if was helped yet. I told her no and again said, "came to pick up the French Toast Order " she said it was ready and I proceeded to pay. I checked the order and notice there was "scrambled eggs" instead of what I requested. I told her, that the order was supposed to be sunny side up. She took the breakfast from me and told the cook. Well it literally took over 10 min, for them to cook the egg. I even asked "how long does it take to cook an egg?" Well Not once did she come back to me and tell; they ( short order cooks) were going to cook me a whole other order (fresh) . She inquired to the cook how long will it be I thought it was rude that she did not let me know, once I got the fresh order , I wanted to make sure it was the correct order as well , I asked her if there were fork, knife and syrup and napkins, which there were.



I also found out that the normal front person was on vacation at the time. If he was there I am sure my order would not have taken so long . He is always on the ball and very friendly with the customers.



They need to do something about there service with people who order Take Out!
