Cobalt The Restaurant

The service was horrible and it took 45 mins just to get our salad when the restaurant was 1/2 full! Third bad experience in a row. We won't be back!

This is a MUST visit on every trip to Orange Beach. The food is wonderful and the view is outstanding. This is the way a waterfront restaurant should be. FYI: wait till you try the desserts.

We were told by Kimberly that since we had a previous bad experience that they would treat us to a good time. She had talked with the owner to discuss our situation and we called before coming in to assure our timing was correct. Although we were told the meal would be comped we stayed to the cheap side of the menu and no one had alcoholic beverages, in fact 3 of the 5 of us had water only.



The salad and soup were great. The meal was bland especially the risotto and jambalaya had no flavor (no trinity). The fish was over done. French Fries, and ribs were cold and we had the fries replaced. The cold slaw was forgotten although listed on the menu.



When presented the bill it was at full menu price. When we asked about Kimberly we were told she had already left for the day. The manager that evening told us that instead he would comp us a dessert. I have had their desserts in the past which were not any good especially they fried apple pie that was uncooked and doughy while the bread pudding was just plane tasteless. Thought they needed it worse than us. We will never be back. You don't promise and under deliver.

Very disappointed with Cobalt Restaurant. We are a local family that eats here regularly, and probably spend over $1,000 per year with this restaurant. We were promised a free meal by Kimberly for grievances we had with the owners, but on arrival of the bill we were asked to pay. Kimberly indicated she would like for us to have a meal on the house to make up for problems we had the day before. She informed the staff before we came to eat as I called ahead. The manager talked to us but was very rude about the situation, denied our claims, and didn't even offer us a 10-20% discount. We own a small business and understand the value of treating customers with respect and rewarding returning customers, but this restaurant apparently does not! Not true to their word, and their side dishes were cold.
