General Info

Meet Dr. Nirenblatt:I was raised in Charleston, SC, in West Ashley and have enjoyed raising my family and building my practice in the community where I grew up. My wife, Cynthia, and I have two children, Ellen and Daniel, and two dogs, Pumpkin and Sugar. My passions outside of orthodontics are photography, playing the guitar, spending time with my family and enjoying the lowcountry. After graduating from Porter- Gaud High School in Charleston, I attended college at Tulane University in New Orleans and Boston University. My dental school training was next and I completed it here in Charleston at MUSC where I graduated in the top ten of my class with my DMD(General Dentistry) degree in 1989. I was then accepted into Columbia University in New York City where I received my Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics graduating in 1991. After I graduated from Columbia University, I returned home and immediately associated with Drs. Wright, Dick and Barbieri. After three years learning from established doctors, in 1994, I decided to open my own practice in North Charleston on River's Avenue. In 2003, I opened a second location in West Ashley on Savannah Hwy in the Parkwood Center where I practiced next door to Children's Dentistry (Pediatric Dentistry).2006 was a busy year as I moved my North Charleston location and West Ashley location(along with Children's Dentistry) to new buildings. Both offices are state-of- the art with digital x-rays and imaging. We are paperless and use TOPs Mac orthodontic software. PRACTICE OVERVIEW:Dr. Nirenblatt is a Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Invisalign Premier Provider and Invisalign Teen Provider: Dr. Nirenblatt offers a variety of orthodontic treatments, all customized to create the best results possible. As an Invisalign® Premier Preferred Provider, he has worked with hundreds of patients to help them achieve a straight smile without sacrificing aesthetics and convenience. In addition to Invisalign and Invisalign Teen, Dr. Nirenblatt also offers traditional clear braces, In-Ovation® Lingual Braces, and Tip-Edge Plus System of braces. With the Tip-Edge Plus appliance, orthodontic treatment can be accomplished with fewer appointments when compared to traditional metal brackets. Their unique compact design greatly decreases discomfort and can eliminate the need for headgear, and other bulky appliances.
