Golden Link Motel

I was so tired from driving that I stayed at the first place I saw, and that happened to be this one. We arrived around midnight and checked in. I asked if we could check out an hour later since we arrived so late, and was told that we could do that even though "the maid won't like it." The motel certainly has no bells & whistles, but it seemed okay. I did find two dead bugs in the corner. We were preparing to check out in the morning when the phone rang. I picked it up and there were just beeps. It happened again about 10 minutes later. We ended up heading to the office about half an hour past checkout, which was half an hour early since we were told we could stay over an hour. Apparently the person we spoke with the night prior didn't pass the message along and the morning clerk was quite irritated with us, telling us that the phone calls were them calling wondering why we hadn't checked out yet. I would pass on this motel; there are many others - mostly name brand - pretty much right next door.

My Family has been going to this motel for over 5 years. They treat us like family every time we visit and are friendly with most of the staff and owners.

I totally disagree with the first review written the owners are more than happy to come solve any problem at any time as are other staff. This is not a hotel that rents rooms by the hour and they turn away patrons who seem to want rooms for that purpose. THIS IS A FAMILY ORIENTED MOTEL!!

Owned and operated for many years by the same family.

They have a heated pool out front, cable tv, free wireless internet, there is a bar-b-que pit out back and is located on a lake (so bring your fishing gear).

This motel is centrally located to any place you want to go like Disney World or Sea World.

There are 2 walmarts within 10 minute drive.

A large grocery store located across the street.

Many delicious restaurants just down the street within walking distance or very short drive.

10 min drive from Old Town.

It's not a fancy place but it has low rates and a friendly atmosphere. And I wouldn't go elsewhere.
