Dental Examination
When you visit us for a regular checkup, we will first perform a comprehensive examination of your oral structures such as the teeth, tongue, the lining of your inner cheeks, gums and throat to check for any signs of abnormalities or infection. We also make use of digital X-rays when necessary to identify issues that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The results of the X-rays can be immediately viewed.
X-rays
To make your visit as pleasant and brief as possible, there are a few things you should bring with you. Please bring any dental X-rays from the last six months to your first appointment.
Oral Cancer Screening
Professionally administered dental checkups at the office of Heresi Dental Care include a full dental exam, including the use of digital X-rays when necessary, and an oral cancer screening. We also perform a professional cleaning to help you get rid of hidden plaque and bacterial deposits in the mouth.

Teeth Cleaning
This is followed by a professional dental cleaning using specialized dental instruments that work to remove plaque and tartar buildup. These areas may be hard to reach using a toothbrush or dental floss.

Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are a form of preventive oral care treatment that seals and smoothes out the irregular surfaces of our molars and premolars and help to prevent tooth decay from occurring. When used in conjunction with a good oral care regime including regular home care and professional care such as cleanings, checkups and fluoride applications, sealants go a long way in helping you maintain healthy teeth.

Fillings
Fillings are used to replace those parts of a tooth which have been damaged or lost due to trauma, decay or wear and tear. In the past, teeth were filled using dark amalgam fillings. Nowadays, these are rapidly being replaced with more natural-looking, tooth-colored dental fillings that are made of composite resin. Composite fillings can be made to match the color of the dentin in the teeth so that they look completely natural.

Root Canal Treatment
The innermost portion of our teeth is very different from the hard, sturdy outer part. It is called the dental pulp, and it houses nerves and blood vessels that supply nutrition to the tooth during its development. Sometimes, a fracture, infection, crack or deep decay in the tooth can reach the pulp and cause problems. This further leads to decay and nerve death in the pulp and is known as a root canal infection. Endodontic treatment, or root canal therapy, can be used to save the tooth from extraction.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
This is a surgical treatment used to treat gum disease where the bone, gum tissue, or both are removed to expose more of a tooth. A cut is made in the gum to let them pull away from the tooth and expose the roots and surrounding bone. The area is then flushed, and the gums are stitched back together.
Deep Cleaning

Dentures
Dentures can be fixed or removable replacements for a few or a full set of missing teeth. Depending on whether some or all of your teeth are missing, we may recommend full or partial dentures. If you have a very few natural teeth remaining, we may suggest removing them and opting for a full denture.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are considered the “gold standard” when it comes to teeth replacement. They are a strong, fixed and permanent way to replace lost teeth. An implant is a titanium fixture that is surgically placed in the jawbone at the site of a lost tooth. The implant integrates with the jawbone and becomes a part of your oral structure. A prosthetic such as a crown or bridge can be placed over the implant to act as the top part of the missing tooth or teeth. Our practice offers a variety of implant options such as endosteal implants, which are used to replace a single missing tooth, as well as All-on-4 implants that can be used to replace a complete arch of teeth with only four implants.

Oral Surgery
Dr. Heresi obtained his Bachelor and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of San Martin, School of Dentistry in Lima, Peru. He continued his postgraduate studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. His two-year residency included the latest advanced training in oral surgery, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic and pediatric dentistry.
Tooth Extractions
When you visit one of our offices for a wisdom tooth extraction, we will begin by taking an X-ray to analyze the position of the tooth and the appropriate way to extract it. The procedure starts with the administration of anesthesia or sedation as necessary. After that, the tooth is carefully removed, and the site is cleaned. Gauze is placed to control bleeding. The extraction site needs time to heal after the surgery. You may experience some swelling and pain. Stick to soft foods, and avoid smoking and drinking for a few days after the procedure. You can use an icepack to control swelling.
Ridge Augmentation
The procedure of ridge augmentation is done to add bone to the maxillary sinuses in order to support prosthetic teeth. Ridge preservation involves adding bone grafts at the site of an extracted tooth immediately after the removal procedure to prevent bone deterioration.
