        Chinese Interpreter: I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker who has been living in East Lansing, Michigan for more than 30 years. I have provided translation/interpreting services from English to Chinese and Chinese to English in the business/legal/health fields for more than 20 years. BA in English Language and Literature; MA in Linguistics. Developed 3 Chinese courses at Lansing Community College and taught them for 14 years. Taught Chinese classes at Lansing Chinese School for 5 years; taught Chinese as a Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University for 2 years while earning my Master's degree in Linguistics. Currently working closely with Michigan 54A, 54B District Courts, Ingham County Court, 55th District Court as a Mandarin Chinese interpreter. Owner/translator/Interpreter of Interactive Designs for Translation. Raised two children who continue to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese with one child finishing up first year medical school at Michigan State University. Helped my brother through his medical school application process and he is currently a retinal specialist in South Carolina. Translation/Interpreting services offered include but not limited to: translation from Chinese to English or English to Chinese of various documents such as driver’s license, marriage license, transcript, diploma, birth certificate, bank statement, passport, term paper, and thesis. Interpret from Mandarin Chinese to English or English to Mandarin Chinese for courts, SOS offices, immigration offices or private services. Provide assistance for the US college/medical school admission process such as editing essays /personal statements, or reviewing application forms. Provide assistance to new immigrants/students in settling and adjusting to a new English-based environment (i.e. buying real estate/cars, finding doctors/dentists, schools for children, insurances, getting a driver's license, etc.) Offer Mandarin Chinese/English language instructions on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.Rates are negotiable between $35 to $100 per hour, depending on the type and difficulty of the assignment.
