Cafe Sonshine

I have traveled to many countries and eaten at many different restaurants and this was one of the top places I have ever eaten in my life! It is hard to find such amazingly flavourful food made with such fresh ingredients and that is at such a great price. Everything from the biscuits with butter to the hand squeezed lemonade to the banana pudding cheesecake was delicious. The shrimp scampi was some of the best shrimp I have ever eaten, fresh, juicy and had an amazing lemon butter sauce that made you feel like you were on the East Coast. This shrimp literally brought tears to the eyes of the group I was with. The mac and cheese was super flavourful and the fried chicken reminded me of my grandma's. We were such a large group we were such a large group so we were able to taste most of the cheesecakes and desserts which were all spectacular but especially the apple crisp cheesecake, key lime pie cheesecake and the banana pudding cheesecake. The meal was so great we went back two days later and plan on going back the next time we are in town. This is definitely a place not to miss when one is in Detroit!
