I can not thank everyone at this vet enough! Not only for taking care of my cat but putting up with my emotions, calling all the time to check on my cat, and for putting up with all my questions! Emergency Care
Emergencies are, by nature, totally unpredictable. If one of our clients' is experiencing a health emergency, our veterinary team is here to help. We’re open six days a week and can accommodate our clients' after hours emergencies if notified in advance. We take pride in providing compassionate, expert care when your pet needs it most.
Immunizations
Beginning June 3rd, we’ve started to invite a maximum of two people to accompany their pet into the exam room for appointments. To limit exposure between people, we ask you to wait in your car and call (301) 729-6084 check-in when you arrive. If you have not received a COVID-19 vaccination, we kindly ask you to please wear a mask when entering the building.

Tonometry allows our veterinary team to measure the pressure inside your pet’s eye. This helps us diagnose diseases like glaucoma, which causes increased fluid pressure in your pet’s eyes. Like many diseases, early detection is key to treating this disease before it progresses and causes permanent changes to your pet’s vision. At LaVale Veterinary Hospital, we may recommend tonometry for your pet depending on a variety of risk factors. Tonometry is a non-invasive, pain-free procedure that does not require sedation.
