Hoosier Uplands is a local nonprofit agency based in southern Indiana that offers a wide range of services for the low-income individuals, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Its Head Start program is a family-centered child development program providing activities for overall development of the children, and offers nutritious meals, and medical, dental, vision, speech and hearing screenings for each child enrolled. The organization also provides home health care and hospice services, and its housing development program provides information for persons experiencing landlord-tenant problems, financial difficulties, Section 8 housing assistance applications and mortgage default and rental delinquency counseling. Its strategic development and consulting services division provides community building programs for family health, education, and integration. Hoosier Uplands is located in Bedford, Ind.
