Orthopedic Surgery
Brian has a strong interest in providing very thorough care for his general medical dermatology patients and is gifted in helping to diagnose challenging skin conditions. He is also well-versed in surgical procedures from his training with Dr. Basler and experience with orthopedic surgery and emergency medicine.
Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery can have advantages over traditional and hospital-based surgery. Although a complex procedure, Dr. Basler performs Mohs surgery safely and comfortably in a clinic setting. The procedure allows Dr. Basler to microscopically spot “roots” of aggressive skin cancers to prevent recurrences. These roots can be removed without traumatizing surrounding healthy skin. The result is a very high cure rate and the best chance for a pleasing cosmetic result.
Reconstructive Surgery
Following skin cancer treatment, growth removal, or the removal of moles, reconstruction may be necessary to close the wound in a way that will leave minimal scarring. Sometimes these procedures must take place in areas such as the nose or eyelids. Dr. Geoff Basler has specialized training in reconstructive surgery. Skin reconstruction treatments such as skin grafting and skin flaps can help you to enjoy the benefits of your surgery while bearing as few physical reminders as possible. Sports Medicine
Brian Herbin PA-C attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 1993. In 1998, he obtained his Masters of Education in Athletic Administration. He graduated from the Union College Physicians Assistant Program in 2002. Following graduation, he worked at Nebraska Orthopedic and Sports Medicine for 15 years. During that time, he worked in various emergency rooms on the weekends. Falls City and Tecumseh were his most recent assignments.
