Founded in 2000, Charles R. Drew Charter School is a public charter school that offers various before- and after-school programs for more than 800 students in prekindergarten through grade eight. Its academic curriculum includes a range of subjects, such as reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. It provides various enrichment classes, such as visual and performing arts, music, physical education and Spanish. In addition, the school provides various extracurricular activities, such as chess, debate, drama, dance, creative writing and stock market games. It also offers tutoring and homework assistance services. The school s parent-teacher association organizes various fundraising activities to support school programs. It has a more than 105,000-square-foot building that includes various classrooms, computer laboratories, music and dance studios and a media center. Charles R. Overall

Par excellent! I am a parent of students at both the EA (elementary academy) and JA (junior academy) the rigor of the curriculum and the dedication of the teachers are unmatched for a public school. My family and I are proud to be Drew Eagles!

Overall

We love our school! Our children experience a level of thoughtful, caring education that cannot be found elsewhere in our area. Beyond the regular classroom expectations they are exposed to a vast array of specials ranging from robotics to chorus, to dance and engineering.

Overall

We've been at Drew for 5 years now. They focus on project based learning and have put arts back into a STEM curriculum. Drew operates on a STEAM curriculum. It has been a great experience for my kids.
