Great chocolate stout beer ice cream float! Have to try! Great outside seating and service. Wonderful view and sound of a water fountain.

This place is so good! You generally have to wait in line to get in, but it is worth it. Super dupper good chocolate.

This is not your mom's Hershey...

This is not your mom's Hershey's Candy Bar! Everything is handmade on site and you can taste the hard work put into it. I highly recommend the Quintessential Chocolate Cake and their Root Beer (not made on site but is traditionally made). Atmosphere is wonderful! It's so comfortable and kids love the place. Upstairs is a bit more posh and great for parties. Price wise this place can be a bit steep. But it's well worth the splurge!

General Info
Fifteen years ago, Dan and Jael Rattigan dropped out of grad school and bought an abandoned cacao plantation in Costa Rica. After opening a cafe (which is still going strong), they gave in to the lure of Asheville, set up a new home base, and opened French Broad Chocolates. The tiny chocolate empire, which includes a lounge, boutique, and chocolate factory, imports cacao from small farms and refines it into bonbons, chocolate bars, brownies, and more.
