I had my car towed here Wednesday morning upon being told they could work on it either that day or Thursday morning at the latest. After repeatedly being told it would only take one more day, they did not actually begin work on the car until late Saturday afternoon. The "repair" they had to make was extremely simple. They were cleaning out the mass air sensor. I was told the cost was going to be $140. This is astronomically high as a bottle of air sensor cleaner can be bought for less than $10, and it takes no mechanical skill to spray it on the sensor. After stating my case for a lower rate, they relented to charge "only" $120. Washtenaw Auto Care kept me without my car for 4 days, forcing me to walk to work and get rides to school, only to clean my mass air sensor and charge an absurdly high rate. I will never give this place my business again and would not recommend it to anybody.

Bad service

I had purchased some brand new tires from a wholesaler and I paid Washtenaw Auto Care Center to put the tires on my wheels.I drove my car to Whole Foods down the street and when I came out of the store from shopping one of my tires were completely flat.I drove the car back to Washtenaw Auto Care Center and they treated me like a dummy. They tried to blame it on my rim trying to seperate themselves from liability. My brand new tire was ruined;the outer wall of the tire was worn. They fixed the tire but did not compensate me for the outer wall of my brand new tire being ruined. When I inquired about compensation they got an attitude with me.The straw that really broke the camels back was when he insulted my intelligence by insinuating that armore all adds ruber to worn tires!

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY DO NOT RESPECT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I DON'T EVEN BLOG BUT I FELT I HAD TO WARN OTHERS ABOUT MY SITUATION!!!!!!

BEWARE OF WASHTENAW AUTO CARE CENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live just up the street from Washtenaw Auto Care and I've had them do quite a few repairs on my car. They are always up front with me about costs and I feel like their prices are fair. I've been to a few other mechanics in town and compared to them Washtenaw Auto Care has been the most accommodating. They have fixed the fan in my car, replaced a radiator hose, done a complete brake job, and changed my fuel filter and I've never had an issues with any of the repairs they have done. They get you in and out as soon as possible and they have a huge garage. I feel like I can actually trust this shop and that's hard to find when you're a girl. I highly recommend Washtenaw Auto Care Center.

DON'T GO WORST SERVICE EVER

This place is by far the worst mechanic shop I've ever been to Our church van needed repairs And I explained to the owner we did not have much money to spend And he told me he will do his best to keep the price Reasonable The van kept turning off So I had them check it out They diagnosed it and told me that it needed a motor They quoted me $1700 So we went ahead and agree to it One week later I want to go pick up my van And I remember there was a blue mark on the side of the motor So apparently they did not put a new motor in But they insisted they did I asked to see my old motor and they told me that they send it back for a core I took the van to another mechanic shop so they could check the Vin number on the motor and the Vin number on the motor matched the Vin number on the vehicle So they lied to our church They didn't replace the motor And the van is still shutting off I am taking them to court so I could get my $1700 back I never in my life thought anyone would do this to a church van That drives around the people of God. The van actually shut off while we were picking up people for Sunday service Hard earned donations went to a corrupt mechanic shop Please do yourself a favor and do not take Your vehicle to them

I just got my car back from Wa...

I just got my car back from Washtenaw Auto Care. It is an 2011 Audi A6 and all my buddies told me to only take it to the Dealership. Unfortunately, the dealership was closed this weekend and I had something of an emergency. My boyfriend told me about a place he "really trusted" and my boyfriend and I went to Washtenaw Auto Care where the staff was friendly and walked us through every step of the required repair and gave us a very accurate estimate of what the work would cost. The best part is that I dropped the car off on Saturday (yes, they are open Saturdays and Sundays!) and picked the car up on Monday. The car was clean (no fingerprints all over my steering wheel like I experienced with another shop recently), and the problem was fixed completely. OVerall, I just intuitively felt very very comfortable with teh people who run Washtenaw Auto Care. They are honest and you can see that from just talking to the two owners. No BS with these guys, they tell it like it is and they have a really good reputation with the people in Ann Arbor that I grew up with. I will definitely go back there.

I heard about Washtenaw Auto f...

I heard about Washtenaw Auto from a co-worker who has used them for a long time. I had some issues with my car for 2 months and went to 2 different mechanics. One mechanic told me the issue was with my gasket, the other told me the issue was with my pistons and both of these mechanics quoted me at $800 or more. I took my care to Washtenaw Auto Care and they told me within 15 minutes that my engine basically only needed a $21 dollar seal replaced which they did for me on the spot. I saved alot of money and will continue to take my car there if I ever have troubles. There is NO PRICE TAG you can put on honesty especially when it comes to car mechanics and I found nothing but HONESTY when I went to Washtenaw Auto Care. I highly recommend them.

I am a physician in training a...

I am a physician in training at a hospital in Ann Arbor. I had car trouble this weekend (memorial day weekend) and called every (literally EVERY!) auto repair place in the Ann Arbor area on Friday asking them if they could pick my car up from the hospital parking lot, repair it, and bring it back to me (I was on-call and unable to leave the premises for the night). The only place that was responsive to my needs was washtenaw Auto Care. The young guy (Mike) who runs the place personally drove to the hospital with jumper cables, started my car up and called me up 1 hour later with the details on exactly what was wrong with my car and the estimated costs of the repair. Unfortunately, they were supposed to be closed on Sunday but they were kind enough to work after 6pm on Saturday to make sure the car was done before the long weekend. I ended up getting my car delivered back to the hospital and working again WITHOUT EVER LEAVING the hospital. I literally had the car delivered to my doorstep and for that I am very grateful. I was real close to renting a car before talking to Washetenaw Auto but, thank God, I didnt have to resort to that because of their kind offer to help with my car. Also, I ended up paying $5 (five dollars) less than the initial estimate which was also pretty sweet. The never used Washtenaw Auto before but as long as I remain in the Ann Arbor area, I cannot see myself going to any other repair place. These guys are honest, straightforward, and really professional.

Do NOT Take Your Car Here

I wouldn't give a star if I didn't have to. I took my car here for repairs in March, they told me I needed a bunch of front end work totaling $900. Eight months later I returned my car because my front tires were wearing a ton more on the inside than the outside. The work done in March, included an alignment, which in the work order they spelled it wrong (very professional). I called Sunday, they told me to bring it in first thing Monday, I was told they would call within an hour, didn't receive a call, I had to call them at 2:30. I went in and waited for 3 hours thinking they would do something, but they didn't they told me it was warranty work and it would be done Tuesday at 5pm. I call tuesday at 6, car will not be done til wed at noon. I call wed at 1:30 car isn't done and they can't find the parts. I get a call 20 minutes later saying it is something else wrong with my car and it will cost $700 to fix it. This is all work that is under warranty, is my guess why they haven't done anything about it and won't. Watch out because they do seem courteous and give good prices but its because they know you will be back!

This is the best mechanic shop in Washtenaw County

I take all my cars to Washtenaw Auto care. They have fixed cars for me where other failed. They always respected me and detailed each repair for me. They took me to my car and showed me exactly the repairs. No mechanic shop ever showed me the service area. Washtenaw Auto Care did. I'm extremely satisfied with the service and price.
