BEWARE-NECESSARY INFORMATION

To all who are interested in becoming a patient of Diana Rosenberg's,

In 2005 I was a patient of Dr. Rosenberg's at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Chicago. The first few appointments I had with Rosenberg were my own complaints about leg pains and bruising. At the time, I was ten and very physically active, so understandably Rosenberg suggested to lay off all the physical activity. As months continues, visits became more frequent. The bruising had gotten much worse and did not seem to heal, and the biggest concern my mother and I had was the EXTREME amount of bloating my stomach had done.

As a current nursing major and just as common knowledge will have it, any EDUCATED or INTELLIGENT doctor would have ordered a standard CBC (complete blood count) to just make sure everything was in balance. Rosenberg's method? She referred me to a childhood psychologist and suggested I was "pretending for attention". Let it be clear, I am the only child and have had enough attention throughout my entire life, that this may have been the most absurd diagnosis known to man. Plus, how a ten year old child can fake stomach abnormalities, unhealed bruising, and many other prominent symptoms is beyond me.

These appointments had a span of around 9 months, around 20 visits (no exaggeration). On September 5, 2005 I was rushed to the Children's Memorial ER where I was immediately looked at (before the boy gushing blood from his broken nose). The first question my mother and I were asked as we checked into the ER was "What is wrong with her stomach?"

Keep in mind, my last appointment with Rosenberg was 2 weeks prior to the ER visit.

The diagnosis the wonderful doctors at Children's Memorial had come to within two hours: Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. A rare form but easily could have been detected with a simple, standard blood test. A blood test that was never ordered by Rosenberg. My white cell had gotten so high by the time I was finally diagnosed, that they were unsure I was going to make it through the night. To give you a more clear representation, my white blood cell count had reached 700,000 above normal (they had never seen one so high and were shocked themselves that I was still alive).

Thankfully, I am here today writing this review of how truly awful Rosenberg is as a doctor. I will never refer to her as a doctor, nor will I ever forgive such a lack of consideration. Due to "files gone missing" and undocumented false diagnoses, my family and I were unable to put up a malpractice against Rosenberg. As a current, healthy 18 year old girl I am taking it upon myself to inform others who are considering putting their lives into the hands of Rosenberg. I would never wish for someone to go through what I had, believing they needed psychiatric help because they truly believed they did not feel well. Thinking that all their symptoms of cancer, were in their head. Rosenberg truly does not deserve to call herself a doctor. She could not even follow through the simplest, most routine check-up.

I warn all who are contemplating her as your physician, let my story be a lesson. There are plenty of intelligent and worthy doctors. Please, do not entrust your own life in the hands of one who almost took my life due to her own negligence.
