Serenity Pool & Spa

Don't go for the cheap option, you get what you pay for. We chose this company because we didn't think we needed to spend the money on a gunite pool but we were wrong. The previous bad reviews mirror our experience with Amanda and Tommy as far as Tommy not being on site after the final cheque is collected, unskilled labor and poor workmanship. We had numerous problems right from the beginning and if I could do it over again I would have stopped the job when the first mistake happened and lost my deposit. To list just a few problems (and there are more): they started the job without approval of our HOA after promising they would deal with them and as a result our equipment pad had to be relocated, they charged us $1500. for removal of dirt which was never removed but rather spread over our yard resulting in a $3000. bill for sod, we never received the winter blanket that we paid for, we paid for concrete to be pumped in but they brought it in with a Bobcat and as a result the cement set up before they could brush it...they hired some company to do an overlay to fix it (which was not what we wanted) and it cracked in the first month of use. Also, while our pool was being constructed we had a visit from another customer who had a pool done by them in the previous year and it had caved in...no joke! I guess you might ask why we didn't make them accountable and the answer is that we felt the cost of fighting them would likely be more than what we would recover. Also, towards the end of our construction Tommy informed us that the bank took back his home because he couldn't pay his mortgage so we figured they were going bankrupt and we'd never see our money. Don't risk your money or yard with this company...no matter what you think of them at first, they are a scam!

From start to finish, Serenity Pool & Spa Owners Tommy and Amanda Myrtle have been in constant communication with me. Calls are returned and email and questions are answered patiently and thoroughly. The quality of materials is exceptional and the crew is reliable and courteous. The overall process from start to finish has been really easy and this company has been a pleasure to work with. Serenity Pool & Spa has taken all the stress and worry of permitting and passing inspections out of my hands which is a huge relief. The company has very competitive pricing. I highly recommend this pool company if you are looking to install an inground pool of your dreams.

I have been meaning to give a review on Serenity Pool & Spa after installing our pool last year, 2010, but just haven't sat down to do it. Then after coming across some bad reviews, that I just can't believe, I had to write my review about my experience with Tommy and Amanda Myrtle at Serenity Pool & Spa.



They are so professional but at the same time I felt like I have always known them. Amanda was the first person I meet. She was so informative and took her time to answer our questions. I was impressed by her knowledge of the products and construction of the swimming pool.



After signing with Serenity Pool & Spa I meet with Tommy. Prior to starting he went over layout of not only the pool but the pool equipment which I had not really thought about. I liked how he suggested to put the pool equipment out of site and away from the pool and patio area. Tommy was ALWAYS on site and no one from Serenity Pool & Spa asked for a draw sooner then it was stated in the pool contract. It was nice to walk outside and ask Tommy questions and even once I made a change with no hassles. When he left he always came up to us and would inform us on the progress and what was next. I even had his and Amanda's cell phone number.



The pool looks great and we have enjoyed it so much. There has been no major issues with the pool or pool equipment. The only thing that has happened was this year, almost a year later, our salt cell stopped working. I called the store and told them and the next thing I knew I got a call saying Tommy would be by tomorrow and take a look at it. Next day he arrived and informed me that the salt cell had stopped working. He took the cell and put some chlorine in my skimmer to get me through until he came back. About two weeks later he arrived with a new one and charge me nothing, not even labor.



I have never experienced anything bad with them. There was no hidden fees, which was one of my worries when I started looking into a pool, and everything went as they said it would. Our concrete decking was delayed a week but this was due to rain which is no fault of theirs.



We have enjoyed our experience with Serenity Pool & Spa and would recommend them to anyone.

This company is terrible. Tommy and Amanda talk a good game up front. As soon as they get their down payment, forget it. They're gone to another job. You take a big time back seat. Lots of excuses. Bottom line, doesn't follow up on commitments. Has no idea how to build a retaining wall-One of the worst contractors I have ever come across. STAY AWAY from these guys-TOMMY and AMANDA MYRTLE-OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!
