Overall
Really Happy

I don't know what caused me to look on the internet but I found this site and am pleased to be able to leave a comment about Woodland Park West

Today,I visited my aunt who lives there. I had not told her I was coming and when I arrived she was 'too busy' to spend time with me. She was on her way out the door to see the movie Sxx in the City. You can't imagine my reaction at seeing a dozen gals, most over 85, leaving like a group of excited girls going to the movies. What a kick!

My Aunt moved there about a year ago or so and has been reborn. She was living at home, alone, not eating much, never going anywhere, complaining about alot of things. To the point the family did not want to visit her and yet we all worried. After she moved she started playing cards, made friends and got involved in life again.

I hope my Mom does not read this but the time may come for her to need the help the staff provides there and at least I am comforted knowing that she will be safe and really cared for (and about) there.

Magic happens there sadly they can't stop time but at least it seems the people there are happy.

A Great Find for our family

My father was in the hospital last year and thank goodness he listened to the Doctor who told him he should not live alone at home anymore. We had been telling him that for some time.We should have been more forceful.

We toured some 'homes' and was rather depressed about the whole thing.

We toured this place and decided to move Dad in. At first we were not sure if it would work. But, after 6 months everything is fine and we are so relieved.

The management and staff have been great. It must not be easy for them but, they have a gift. Dad has gained weight, is moving around more than ever and seems very happy. I really like visitng him there because everyone is cheerful and they are doing so much. Today a group went to Santa Anita racetrack. I mean how often do you see a group of 90+ year olds going to the track.

I rate this place very highly. I hope this helps anyone looking for a good retirement home.

Overall
Good enough for my Grandmother

My grandmother and some years later my great Aunt both have lived here.

We looked at lots of places and while this is not the newest, it's also not the most expensive.

It's a big place with lots of staff and they really care it seems to me.

They invited us all on trips, parties, dinners and even ocean cruising with our Grandmother. All I can say is our whole family was always gratefull for the care they gave our most precious elders.

We strongly recommend this place.
