General Info

The New Hanover Correctional Center, a part of the North Carolina Department of Correction, houses more than 402 inmates. It serves adult males and maintains over 40 beds. The center works with Cape Fear Community College to offer adult education classes. The New Hanover Correctional Center also has community work crews. Its inmates work on the Department of Transportation road crews. In addition, the center provides housekeeping, maintenance and labor services for inmates. The New Hanover Correctional Center has a staff of nearly 100 individuals. The North Carolina Department of Correction offers victim and transition solutions. It also provides various an alcoholism and chemical dependency programs division.
