X-rays
A dental x-ray is a diagnostic tool that helps us to detect underlying problems with your teeth. The x-ray allows us to see the health of not only your teeth, but your gums and bone. For children, dental x-rays are necessary in monitoring growth and tooth development. You may need to have x-rays taken when coming into our office for an appointment.

Teeth Cleaning
A periodontal scaling and root planing is typically done on patients who have gum disease. The cleaning is performed by a licensed hygienist who works to remove hardened plaque and calculus from both the upper surface of the teeth as well as in the gum pockets that have formed around each tooth. When you have gum disease, large pockets begin to form around the teeth, which harbor bacteria and plaque. This needs to be removed using a specialized dental cleaning known as a scaling and root planing.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are designed to strengthen and protect teeth. We can provide this treatment for both pediatric and adult patients. Fluoride treatments are done quickly and can provide protection for teeth that would otherwise be susceptible to decay. Fillings
Resin Composite

The bridge procedure is done in under an hour in our office by Dr. Adkins. Your new dental bridge can last for decades with proper routine care.

Root Canal Treatment

Overdentures

Dental Implants
The first step is administering anesthetic or sedation of your choosing. The area that will be receiving the bone graft will be exposed. The grafting material is placed in the area and a growth factor may be used to improve osseointegration. The bone will then fuse naturally with the remaining bone in the area. This may take several weeks to just a few months. After this process, you may require additional surgery as needed, as is found with dental implants. Bone grafts are relatively simple and can be quickly done in our office.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Bone grafts require oral surgery, so it is important that you’re healthy enough to undergo oral surgery. You will first come in for an exam and consultation before it’s determined that a bone graft is necessary. Most of our patients who need a bone graft are eligible for the procedure and can have it done. The graft itself can be done using synthetic or xenograft bone, as this will be discussed at the consultation.
Tooth Extractions
After a tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafts may be required for more invasive procedures or because there is inadequate bone in one or more areas of the mouth. Most often, a bone grafting is needed prior to having dental implants placed. Bone loss can occur as a result of periodontal disease or tooth loss. Dr. Adkins is able to perform the bone graft in-office at your own convenience.

Orthodontic treatment is ideal for children, teens and even adults since there are many options available to meet your needs. Invisalign Orthodontics
The first step when starting Invisalign treatment is a consultation with Dr. Adkins. This allows us to create a personalized plan that utilizes the clear aligner tray system. Impressions, or molds, are taken and used to create the trays that will be used. You’ll come in for routine exams and impressions throughout the course of treatment with our dentist near Arvada. You can expect to notice a difference in just a few short weeks of wearing your trays. You should always keep the trays on your teeth and only remove them when brushing and flossing each day.
Braces
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a system of clear aligners to correct the alignment of teeth.
