Forge Pond Marine Service

I have been bringing our 1999 Campion Alante here for 4 years now for minor repairs and winter storage. The repair prices have always been reasonable, the work is done in a matter of days, and the owner stands by his job. This is a great service to have locally and I have been happy with them.

NEVER go here! The guy is an AUTO mechanic not a marine mechanic and doesn't know what he's doing!!!! We were going to buy a boat from him which had a faulty motor which he was going to fix. In the end we decided not to buy it and we got our money back on the boat, but charged us $100 for his "time" and doing work we didn't ask him to do on a boat that we didn't buy. NEVER go go here! I would give this guy ZERO stars if I could! ****UPDATE: Regarding Ed's comment - we could afford the boat WE PAID HIM CASH FOR IT- so that's a lie. We called an ACTUAL marine mechanic who told us that carbs should be rebuilt not just cleaned. And Ed didn't even notice the cracked bracket at first- my husband pointed it out to him and Ed said it would be fine, but then Ed broke it! I don 't know what "grief" Ed is talking about- the boat was sitting at the shop he runs which he has to go to every day anyway (we had to drive out there 4 times 40 miles each way). It's not like he had to search far and wide to "get us into a boat- it was alrewady at his shop and the bottom line is, Ed charged us for working on his friend's boat. He totally ripped us off. As for the zero bad reviews- that's because he had ZERO reviews!!! And here's the best part: he sent us a text message cautioning us to "I never sued anyone before so be careful what you write" He threatened to sue us for writing a bad review!!!

there are 2 sides to every story, they were not buying a boat from me, they were going to buy one from a friend of mine. the boat in question is a 1978 glastron for 1000 the boat also sat for a long period of time and needed alot of work ie; carbs cleaned and it also needed a swivel bracket that corroded and cracked, after seeing that i gave them their money back, two days before that i told the customer i would charge them 100.00 , because of all the time spent trying to get them into a boat, the 200.00 was for cleaning the carbs., which we never did because they said i didn't know how to and they called another shop. bottom line is they got all their money back, except for the 100.00 for my grief of trying to get them in a boat they cannot afford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have been in business for almost 25 years with 0 bad reviews
