John Read Middle School serves students in grades five through eight and is located in West Redding, Conn. The school offers a comprehensive educational program for all students. It provides a variety of academic programs in art, music, foreign language, science, English, social studies, mathematics and health education. Its fine and practical arts department offers classes in instrumental music, health and healthy cooking, general and choral music, instrumental and general music and woodworking. Its library provides various resources, such as books, magazines, encyclopedias and newspapers. The school provides a range of multicultural activities, and offers counseling and career programs to students.
