The best bar and eatery on H St NE. The #2 sandwich (turkey and bacon on toasted rye or sourdough bread) is simply devine. I highly recommend this spot. Plus there is bingo games on Thursday nights.
Excellent Food! Great Musicx3 And the drinks are on point im really feeling the vibe is! Great name i see alot of peeps here from the area "public" huh? Lol bartender is cool and has great convo here! Love how the jalapeño wings are spicy but good
My bartender, Edra, was just delightful. She was fast, charming, prompt, and just great. I will be back!
Best Buy's flat-screen tv section should would be jealous of this place. They have tv's. Lots and lots of them with many different games on at the same time. This is what a sports bar should be. Each booth has its own screen that they can control. If that's not enough for you, you can look on the walls behind the bar and find any game you want.
Ive always been a fan of Public. The roof deck provides a nice alternative to the sports bar. It's a good chill spot for hanging out with friends. The lower levels are great for watching sports and then convert into a dance floor late night. The bartenders are awesome! They do it right and reminded me why I used to enjoy bartending. They talk to you, joke around, and are attentive with your orders. I'm a fan and will be back
I've lived in DC for over 8 years, and have been to at least 400 food and drink establishments, and this was only one of the two places where my friends and I were treated rudely and disrespectfully by the waitress there. We were ignored by the waitress, and I ordered a ice cream and pie there and was never given utensils. When I asked about the utensils, the waitress gave me a really bad attitude, and begrudgingly got them. Was I supposed to eat the ice cream with my hands? What kind of staff does this owner/manager hire? I hope the Saloon reads this because customer service matters.
Best place to start or end the night. Always our go-to spot! 3rd floor at the rooftop is always packed but 1st and 2nd indoor bars are fun too
Public Bar isn't such a bad place for an after-work Happy hour - especially if you're looking for cheap drinks, bar snacks, and an rooftop seating that tends to go away rather quickly in DC.
My husband & I were looking for a place to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and we were at one place and I wasn't a fan of the food options so we wound up here and it was a fantastic place to watch the game
