Schuler's Bakery

They used to have THE BEST donuts here. Mom & dad would drive from Springfield, OH then later from Milford Center, Ohio to Urbana when I was a kid to get a 'baker's dozen' 1971-2010's. I went in a while back & they did not look 'right' I mean they looked just like everyone elses crapola machine made garbage donuts, Used to be obvious they were hand made & they'd literally melt in your mouth (the glazed anyway- loved those so much, that was all I ever got. I'd drive from Columbus Ohio to get Schuler's Donuts in the 1980's, 1990's,2000's & 2010's. Now I do not think I'd walk across the street to get them. It's not that they are bad. they are as good as any other place I suppose, but not amazing like they used to be. Tough, sorta chewy like Krispy Creme I guess. what I call crap donuts. I really, really miss the real Schuler's I still stop in, but can tell by the look they're not 'right'. Too puffed up, too perfectly uniform too machine processed.... even the service is not great, 10-15 years ago I'd have said 5's all around for Schuler's, now... 1 on food, nearly a 3 on service as at times I've gone in it was a 4, other's a 3, other times a 2 and once a 1....
