Located in Union, Mo., the County Commission governs Franklin County in Missouri and performs general administrative duties. The commissioners meet weekly to discuss various agendas and works in coordination with the county counselors. It performs various functions, including scheduling appointments, drafting agreements and ordering funds. Franklin County has various departments, such as building, emergency, health, treasurer s and sheriff s offices, and planning and zoning. Its health department offers a variety of services, including vital records registration, telephone assistance, nutritional diets, immunizations, blood pressure checks and communicable disease surveillance. The county s emergency department handles the emergency management of the unincorporated areas of the county and helps municipalities in their emergency management activities. It also has a revenue collector that collects and distributes current and delinquent taxes for the county and other taxing entities within Franklin County.
