Ashland Manor

I had read the only other review, which was negative, before I moved in here. I had some trepidation after reading it, but from day one, I've only had positive experiences. The security has ALWAYS been kind and helpful, and knew my name after one day. The grounds are kept well by staff, and they have activities for the residents at all times if you choose to participate. The office staff has always been available and helpful. The laundry room prices are very low. It's at a great location; I have a view of the bridge by the river that pulsates with changing lights, plus the fireworks went off after the ballgame which I could see from my window. I've never had any negative experiences, but I am not combative and negative myself.

40 yrs ago my Grandmother lived here and it was such a nice senior citizens complex. But now? What ever you do "DON'T MOVE HERE" I moved here two months ago thinking it was a senior citizens complex, but only to find out afterwards only a handful of anyone over 50 yrs old even lives here. Their web site along with on site Leasing Agent miss leads and falsely advertises what the complex really is, it is the PROJECTS. My Insurance agent, my children and friends won't even come to visit me after the first time. They tell me its like visiting someone in Jail. Their first words to me are "how in the world can you live here!". Security Guards treat you and talk down to you as though you are a prisoner. Two elevators for over 189 apartments and only one works. Fire alarm goes off at least once a week. You are panhandled all the time. Their rules seem to only apply to some people and not at all if your live here and are employed here. I pay 400 a month while others pay under 200 with the same income
