Dental Examination
Even if you no longer have your natural teeth, it’s still important to see your dentist regularly for an oral examination. The dentist will examine your mouth to check for any problem with the gum ridges, the tongue and the joints of the jaw, as well as screen for oral cancer.

Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.

Teeth Cleaning
Your regular exam will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Each regular exam includes a detailed teeth cleaning, in which we will clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove any tartar and plaque that have built up on the tooth’s surface.

We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease. Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.

Fillings
Although studies indicate that there are no measurable health risks to patients who have silver fillings, we do know that mercury is a toxic material when we are exposed at high, unsafe levels. For instance, we have been warned to limit the consumption of certain types of fish that carry high levels of mercury in them. However, with respect to amalgam fillings, the ADA maintains that when the mercury combines with the other components of the filling, it becomes an inactive substance that is safe.
Resin Composite
Inlays/Onlays – These restorations are custom made fillings. They can be made of composite resin, porcelain or gold and are made by a dental laboratory and placed by a dentist. Inlays/onlays are usually best for the posterior chewing surfaces of teeth and are utilized to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective/unattractive fillings or have been damaged by decay or trauma.
Veneers
These veneers are as thin as contact lenses! This means in most cases, Lumineers® can be placed on your teeth without any drilling or tooth reduction and without the necessity of temporaries! While some minor polishing and enamel recontouring may be necessary, these veneers are done painlessly, with no shots and it is a reversible, non-invasive comfortable procedure that is proven to last for up to 20 years! Even dark tetracycline stained or yellowed teeth can be completely masked out with sparkling white veneers.
Crowns
When a significant amount of a tooth has been lost from decay or injury, but still worth saving – a crown may be in your best interest. A crown fortifies and restores damaged teeth, letting them function and look just like natural teeth.
Bridges
Fixed bridges – This type of bridge is generally made of porcelain or composite material and is anchored (cemented) permanently to a natural teeth adjacent to the missing tooth site. The benefit of this type of bridge is that it is fixed (not removable) and it is very sturdy. The disadvantage is that in order to create a fixed appliance, two healthy, natural teeth will have to be crowned (capped) to hold the bridge in place.

Restorative Dentistry
We may incorporate a variety of restorative procedures in the development of your treatment plan that will help prevent decay or disease of your teeth, mouth, gums and tongue. We also use restorative dentistry procedures to repair the effects of tooth decay, trauma, or disease in these areas of the mouth.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment — also called endodontics – is a set of specialized procedures designed to treat problems of the soft nerve tissue inside the tooth. While it’s often stereotyped as an unusually painful treatment, in most cases the procedure is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. It’s actually one of the most effective ways of soothing tooth pain.

Dentures
If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health.
Overdentures
People with multiple or all of their teeth missing typically have complete or partial dentures; this treatment option is called Overdentures.

Oral Surgery
Tooth Extractions
Wisdom teeth are the large teeth in the very back of your mouth that grow in during your late teens or early twenties. Not everyone gets wisdom teeth, but most people will get four in total. Sometimes wisdom teeth grow in straight, but sometimes they can cause problems. Your dentist might recommend removing wisdom teeth if they are decayed, or are causing pain, infected, or crowding. It is often best to be proactive when it comes to wisdom teeth – removing them before any problems may occur. Recovery from wisdom teeth extraction usually takes about 4 to 7 days. If the tooth is under the gum, then healing may take longer. We can help you decide if wisdom teeth removal is something you or your loved one should have done. It is best to do so sooner rather than later.
Bone Grafting
A simple tooth extraction is an in office procedure that can be completed by your regular doctor, involving specialized tools to lift or pull the tooth from its socket. Teeth can be removed much easier than you might think. Teeth are held inside its bony socket by a set of elastic fibers, and your dentist will use a set of specialized tools to gently manipulate the tooth, causing the fibers to loosen and ultimate disconnect. After the tooth is removed, the extraction site may be filled with bone grafting material to minimize shrinkage in the surrounding bone tissue. Teeth that haven’t yet erupted are removed surgically, often with the patient under IV anesthesia to prevent discomfort and trauma. If necessary, the extracted tooth can later be replaced by a dental implant or bridge.

Orthodontics
Orthodontics primarily deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of erroneously positioned teeth and/or jaws. Many of orthodontic treatments can be delivered in the form of fixed or functional appliances such as braces, bands, and arch-wires.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Invisalign has even added features to the trays for teenagers like spacing for molars that have not grown in yet and compliance indicators that allows the dentist and the patient to see if the trays are being worn for the appropriate amount of time.
Braces
Improved Oral Hygiene: With an orthodontic appliance that is removable, you will be able to clean your teeth much more easily than if you were wearing metal braces.

Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.
Cosmetic Dentistry
I enjoy all facets of dental work, but my passion is cosmetic dentistry. I completed a post doctorate cosmetic dental program and was offered jobs across the country as a cosmetic dentist. I am still taking Continuing Education courses with doctors who are recognized internationally, and are the best in their field. When a patient is concerned about a chipped, broken, yellow or missing tooth, it’s a challenge to me. I ask, how can I make this into the most attractive and healthiest smile possible? General Dentistry
