The Abbey on Lake Wyndemere

The property looks nice and apts are roomy but it is a nightmare! I lived here 3 years and its gone down Jill fast since the new management took over.. They do not handle any issues, do not address others violating lease (I.e. - dogs off leashes, dog crap everywhere, cocky neighbors harassing others) that's just a few. They also will not release your on paid lease ledger to anyone when you want to move.. Beware!! Run away!!! This was a nice place to live but its horrible now and getting very unsafe!

The apartment was actually pretty nice. The staff, however, are fake and WILL screw you over. Don't believe a word that chastity (the manager) says because she is full of it. My husband and I rented for a few months and had to break our lease due to an unexpected job offer in Florida. She said that we could pay our fee for breaking the lease in monthly payments once we got all settled in in Key West. She asked us to just call her and we would agree to a monthly amount due that would fit our budget. My husband called about 5 times, leaving voicemails and messages with another office employee because chastity was NEVER available. Anyways, she never returned our phone calls and sent us to collections so we are being harassed daily because she is lazy and a liar. DON'T LIVE HERE unless you want to be harassed by collections because of her inability to do her job. NOT TO MENTION- the carpets hadn't even been cleaned by the time it was move in day so we had no choice but to put our BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE FURNITURE on damp carpets. When we walked in to pick up our keys on move in day the stupid woman looked at me like I was nuts because they weren't prepared whatsoever for our move in. SO UNPROFESSIONAL.

They lied to us about everything! We were constantly told different things from the management team. We were constantly asking for maintenance to come out; they would either never come out or they would do a horrible job and we would need them to come back out to fix it. They tried taking advantage of us and tried to take more money from us. The elevators were always out of order and it would take forever to get them fixed and then they would end up breaking again. The trash people were also very rude and did a horrible job and then would say it was all your fault. Out of all the apartments I have ever lived at The Abbey was the worst due to poor management and maintenance team. The apartments themselves were great, but that was it. I would definitely not recommend these apartments to anyone; not even if I disliked someone. No one should ever get screwed over like we did.
