Richey Appraisals

Lacking in professionalism, poor customer service, left with a worthless appraisal. May 2011 spoke with Mr. Richey about an appraisal on my rental property. 1st red flag should have been when I was told by my renter that Mrs. Rhonda Richey had already been to the property to do the actual appraisal. Had been expecting a call back so I would know the time and date of the appraisal by Mrs. Richey. Next, I received the appraisal by e-mail and actually had to call to request a hard copy. Approx. 4 wks later I received a suspicious e-mail titled Corrections to the appraisal from Mrs. Richey. No courtesy call before or afterwards, simply an e-mail informing me that my property is now worth 1/4 less than originally appraised. Found out through my Realtor that a Builder had viewed my property and then asked who appraised it. I discovered that my suspicions were correct and that Mrs. Richey had indeed talked with the Builder and that is what prompted the change in the lower value of my property. After I confronted Mrs. Richey about this unprofessional behavior she finagled my property value back to her original amount. Therefore, I was left with a worthless appraisal and no true value of my property. Furthermore, there were many mistakes on the original appraisal i.e. not even the sqr ft was correct on the dwelling. I did request my $400 fee back and received it.
