Gulf Coast Air Systems

I dont normally post reviews but I had such a great experience with Gulf Coast Air Systems that I felt compelled to share my experience with everyone! I started having problems with the A/C and found myself without an A/C company because the one who installed my unit recently went out of business. I didn't know who to call and had a friend of a friend who does A/C repair come to check the unit. He replaced our mother board and said Id also need the heating strip replaced. An hour after he left the air when out again. The tech came back out and couldn't figure out the problem and said he would Google the issue and thats the last I heard of him. I started searching online for a new A/C company and came upon Gulf Coast Air Systems. I read about them online before deciding to give them a call. I am so glad they are the company I called! Service tech Homero came to my home and in no time and he quickly diagnosed the problem which was my thermostat. He also said its the reason

Used them a few times. Second time they made recommendations and said they would follow up for appointment time to complete recommended work. I waited for their call, ended up calling them back but they had no record of the recommended work to be done! I don't know if this was unusual for them since my parents had recommended them to me but I was disappointed with their follow up. They ended up sending out another estimator making the same recommendation but since he got my air conditioner to work again I figured I'd wait to see if it really needed the work.

Great maintenance service in the past on old AC thus we used them for changeout/installation of new AC but we should have obtained quotes from other companies too. Do not use for installation unless you get everything in writing in detail - work to be performed and materials to be used - NO SHORT LISTS! "Proposal" is a Contract! Get info from installation manager not a salesman. Owner of company is President of Florida Refrigeration & AC Contractors and perhaps the mentality of the company now is they have been at this for so many years and built a reputation which they are riding on and perhaps have now become sloppy and no detail paid to basics and they don't need to provide detail of work to be performed and materials used and you should just go along with them since you are the uninformed public with no HVAC knowledge and don't dare question the work performed. Be informed before speaking with them since very important matters they should address with you will not be mentioned.

They were reliable and professional, but very expensive. The estimate was $84.50, instead of free like most places. Also, the repair costs they quoted were about $400 more than other a/c repairs we called have quoted. Make sure to call around for other estimates first!
