I dropped off 4 wheels for powdercoat and they quoted me a turnaround time of 2 weeks. After the first two weeks passed, I started calling for updates. I was consistently told they were working on them and would be done soon. At the end of week 4, I was told they hadn't started them yet (!!!) but would start on the following Monday. I was finally able to pick them after 5 weeks; 3 weeks longer than quoted.
During the extended wait, I asked several times if the price would be adjusted due to the extreme delay. The answer I always got was "I'll have to ask the manager". The manager by the way seemed to never be there to speak to me himself. In fact, one employee I spoke to on the phone (not the normal receptionist) said he was often absent, and that "work kinda comes to stop when he's not here." When I was finally able to pick up the wheels, I asked about the adjusted price. I was told there is no chance of that happening and their commercial and military contracts are more important than walk-in work.
So, If you are a walk-in and you don't have a huge military/commercial contract to offer, expect to be pushed around a lot. They will promise you the world until they have your stuff, then all bets are off despite their "policy" attesting to the contrary... Oh well, at least their powder-coat work is average.
