Sheridan Elementary School of International Language is a Title I school that offers remediation services in reading and mathematics. It offers the Foreign Language Experience (FLEX) program, which includes classes in French, Japanese, Spanish and English. The school additionally offers programs in art, social studies and science. Sheridan Elementary School of International Language has a parent-teacher association that organizes fundraisers, cultural programs and community activities. Its library houses various fiction and nonfiction books, tapes, CDs, DVDs and other resource materials. In addition, the school offers an accelerated reader program that encourages students to read books and take comprehension tests to measure their understanding. Sheridan Elementary School of International Language is located in Tacoma, Wash., and is a part of Tacoma Public Schools.
