Sunshine Stables

Dana Blaine, owner of Sunshine Stables, is a professional horsewomen who cares a lot about her horses, her boarders, and her schooling clients. If you want to learn about horses and how to ride them, Dana, will teach you well. From the ground up you’ll learn how to see them, approach them, groom them, tack them, feel them, understand them. Dana teaches with desire, respect, and strong focus, to the needs of each one of her students. My own experience has been very rewarding and I see Sunshine Stables as a haven of opportunity and accommodation! I will continue my personal lessons with, Dana, and may one day, perhaps soon, be boarding my own horse there!

My review was deleted because I forwarded verbiage from the owner on to the review. So with this being said, I will re-write the review. I boarded with Dana Blanes facility for over 1/12 years. I enjoyed the boarding time for awhile, but started to realize, how Dana truly is as a professional. First and for most, I followed the rules as she had stated in her board agreement. I struggled with her though feeding horses at 12pm and then at 7pm. Horses would get fussy. Some of the issues were: She thought my horse was terrible, but felt she could use him as a lesson horse. She used him several times, and really never asked me. Another issue was her assumption of why my horse had issues with the bit. She claimed his teeth needed to be floated. Well the vet was working on other horse, and I told her to have him just look if he was out there. She assumed, never called me and had my horses teeth floated and it was not necessary. The vet said his teeth were fine. I was of course charged for this. She also slapped on a vet call on other horses at the barn plus my horse. I was charged the whole service call. I watched this person would give lessons, and would rip people off. She used other peoples horses without asking, along with not being able to have her own suitable horses for lessons. Within one year I watched her go through 12 horses for lessons, and thus non were lesson horses at all. She certainly sold many and was dishonest about this. She is extremely cut throat. I tolerated a lot from this woman, and was planning on moving before my horse bit her. She claimed she could of sued me. Perhaps if she understood her own agreements, and understand all horses can be aggressive. Unlike her terrible Morgan that would bite on people. I was asked to leave because he bit. When I pulled him out of the barn, I received nasty phone calls, texts about how terrible of a person I was. The verbiage was horrific and so is Dana.

I have been at many barns over the years and sunshine stables took very good care of my mare helped me with any problems I had and offered good advice with all my concerns about the horse and my riding I have had four of my grandchildren take lessons and the atmosphere and care shown we keep us going back
