Mountain Park Elementary Schoolserves the educational needs of students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes sessions in a variety of subjects, including art, music, physical education, mathematics, reading, science and social studies. It employs a staff of more than 10 teachers. Mountain Park Elementary School features a parent-teacher organization that supports various fundraising events and activities, as well as organizes meetings. The school s facilities include a computer laboratory, gymnasium, media center and cafeteria. In addition, its literacy program focuses on word development, teacher-directed reading and journal writing. Located in State Road, N.C., Mountain Park Elementary School is a part of Surry County Schools, which governs elementary, middle and high schools.
