I sent my car to German Automotive Group to have my radiator changed in my saab 95. After a month of getting it back I found another problem in my car and decided to take it to another shop Autoskandia. Although their pricing is high they do excellent work. When I got the report back they informed me that the bracket for the radiator was installed incorrectly and that they used the wrong coolant. Upset about this I took the car back to German Automotive Group, they told me their coolant is the correct one and wiggled a few cables around to apparently put the radiator back in place (this was all done in a matter of minutes) He offered me the option to have my radiator flushed i gladly accepted. When i picked up my car after the apparent flush my coolant was dangerously low and the cap for my fluid container had been sealed shut using a wrench. Unable to remove the cap with only my hand (which is how it should be) I had to take the car to a gas station to borrow a wrench to remove the cap and also had to buy my own coolant fluid to fill it up. It was almost as if they tightened the cap so tight as to get payback for bringing my car back after a bad review from another shop. NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY WORK ON MY CAR OR ANYONE I KNOWS VEHICLE!

I've brought my 2002 Porsche Boxster to German Auto Group several times and have always been extremely satisfied with their exceptional customer care, meticulous service, and low prices. Taylor Chapman is a Porsche specialist and is an excellent mechanic that shares his knowledge and helps you do only the required service at the lowest costs. He installed a clutch I bought online and saved me almost $1000 versus buying it and getting it installed at the dealer. Likewise, he did my 60K service and saved me another $500 versus the dealer price. Plus, I think he's just more knowledgeable, honest, and plain better than the dealer. I wouldn’t bring my baby anywhere else. Check Taylor out, you’ll be glad you did!

I love this place. I googled them and had seen the negative reviews. I almost didn't go there, but I my car couldn't make the drive to the other place. So I gave German Auto Group a chance.
Boy, I am glad I did, Tim is great! The car, aka the Silver Bullet, runs like new! My Merc SL500, Silver Bullet, is very happy and so am I. Good service and great prices will keep me coming back!
Next month I am bringing the Merc ML350 in for some A/C work.

As promised in my last post, I brought my ML350 to German Auto Group. All I can say is wow once again!
When I needed a ride, Tim picked me up in my car. The price was right and I am very satisfied. I will gladly take my Mercs to them for all my service needs.
Also, they can do Class A and B service --so I will be back time and time again.
Happy Motoring,
Jerry Rhoads

Hello all, I just used this shop for the first time this week. I am what you would call a gear head, I do most of the work to my car myself, unless it is above my skill level (engine and fluids) I do not have a shop and I do not have the ability to dispose of certain fluids. I decided to take it to them because they work on Volkswagen’s. I have a 2003 golf TDI (Diesel) I stopped in and they were very friendly and it looked as though the whole shop was busy with something. It feels like everything stopped when I can in. Right away they took my car and started to do the work that was needed, I am sure they pulled the mechanic from another longer job to take care of me right away. one hour later- they were done. My car was returned to me cleaner then I gave it to them ( THEY WASHED IT:-) even they wheels. It was the WOW that will keep me coming back!
I was treated just as good as the Porsche & Benz owners

I have my Mercedes G500 and Poesche 911 serviced at German Auto Group for past 3 years. I decided to leave a review after seeing other negative reviews. My first visit convinced me to bring all my cars here. Sami (manager) spent more than 3 hours arguing with my warranty company---saved me a whole bunch of money. In addition, mechanics spent extra hours help fixing the notorious G500 front end shimmy. They didn't charge me extra. Sami is an honest businessman and negative reviews here do not reflect the business practice of GAG that I know. Besides these negative reviews do not have facts...I do not believe them.

Don't Hate. Articulate.
If you had a bad experience, suggest how the business could have made your experience better. Wild ranting never helped anyone.
If you had such a negative experience, why would you write an anonymous review rather than take the issue up with the business owner? Something smells fishy.

I took my Benz to this establishment for general repairs and am very unhappy with the outcome. First of all, it took forever for them to do the job and when they finally did call me to let me know my car was ready, I couldn't believe the bill! This is outrageous! I should be charging them for keeping my car so long! It was a great inconvenience and far too expensive to be worth it. My advice: SHOP AROUND! or take it to the dealer! You might as well at these prices...and you'd get it done much faster!

You do better fixing it yourself. Its a sad day when an establishment makes you happy to see the dealership.
IF YOU ARE ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS PLEASE CALL US SO WE CAN FIND OUT WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO WRITE THIS EVALUATION. IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU THIS MEANS THAT THIS EMAIL IS NOT TRUE. WE DO VALUE OUR CUSTOMERS AND OUR REPUTATION IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT

In response to the posting of Almondie on 01/17/2010, this is the real Chuck Wellard, and my 23 November 2009 review is REAL! I just had my Boxster serviced again today, and once again, I received outstanding service. I believe Almondie's review is NOT representative of the great work German Auto Group does for its customers. Cheers!

I want to thank German Auto and especially Tim for an exceptional experience. I visited German this week after years of frustration dealing with BMW of Fairfax. I recently attended the BMW dealers "free clinic" where they "found" over $5K worth of "repairs" - including a recommendation to replace brake fluid - which I just had done 6 months ago. I then brought the car to German Auto, where they reassessed what the dealer "found." Car is now fully repaired for $2K less than the dealers estimate. Excellent customer service from Tim. Free complimentary loaner as well. Will definitely return to German Auto Group! Chris

I have a land rover discovery and they quickly diagnosed the problem, as well as charged me much less than a dealer. Staff was very helpful, courteous and I will continue to go back to them with any future needs.

Taylor and John:
Many thanksfor a super experience last Tuesday with the inspection and maintenance work on my newly acquired 1999 Porsche Boxster with 52,000 miles. The blogs were correct - Taylor Chapman and the German Auto Group are fantastic to work with!
John took the time to get to know me and my Porsche, and answer many of my newbee questions related to my Boxster. Taylor spent 20 minutes with me with John taking notes on the inspection of my Boxster, checking everything from back to front. Taylor obviously knows his Porsches very, very well, yet he talked to me at my non-technical level as he inspected my car.
Taylor offered to take me out as a passenger in my Boxster out what turned out to be a 15 minute test drive, and that was a great learning experience. Not only did he show me how a Porsche can be driven, but he also was keenly listening and feeling for any challenges with my Boxster. For example, he could feel that the alignment was a bit off. Sure enough, when we looked at the tires when the car was on the lift, they showed signs of cupping.
At no time did I feel that Taylor and John were trying to upsell me. They earned my trust and respect. Further, Taylor suggested that I wait until the 60,000 mile service to replace my worn clutch to save me some labor charges. John saved me about $75 by ordering a spare key for me versus my plan to order it through Porsche of Arlington, and by offering a replacement tire from Tire Rack at minimal mark-up.
Lastly, all the German Auto Group staff I interfaced with were pleasant and upbeat, the shop was very clean and organized, and the waiting room and restroom were actually in better shape than my VW and Saab dealer's facilities.
Overall, I look forward to working with Taylor, John and everyone at German Auto Group. What a "wow" first experience. Again, my sincere appreciation to Taylor and John for a job very well done. Please feel free to share this feedback with potential customers and your web site.
Sincerely,
Chuck Wellard

Mike,
Just wanted to say thank you for the letting me know about your former place of employment German Auto Group. They were great! Besides taking care of my Mini, they are close to my work. Juan dropped me off at work and picked me up when the car was ready! That is customer service! I am taking my Mini there from now on, no more driving to Sterling or Manassas.
The price you quoted was very close too, the cost for this job was half of the price in Manassas! I feel they are honest and didn’t cheat me. Thank goodness, with the holidays coming the savings will be useful.
I have referred them to several of my employees who have BMW’s, Volvo’s and Mercedes. Well, I just wanted to drop you a note and say Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving. To you as well German Auto Group.

Costs more than a dealership, watch out, they mark up the time it takes for a job and mark parts up big time, even more than a dealer does. The Porsche mechanic knows his stuff, but is also an arrogant thief. I took my Mercedes and my husband’s Porsche for repair, but never again will we use them, go to a dealership or find another specialist, there are lots of them just as capable, friendlier and offer better value. I think the positive reviews are by the staff.
Dear sir/mdme Your review does not reflect what our service and prices are about. If you are one of our customer please call me so I can check your ticket. We guarantee our prices to be 25% below dealership. such a review is very upsetting and does not reflect the integrity of our shop. I hope that you call me, Sami, and if we did this to you I will refund all your money.

I've brought my car in to be worked on here several times since I found out it existed. The place is clean, orderly and professional, but what brings me back is the honesty of the employees, quality of work and low prices. I went to my dealership recently where they quoted me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for problems that apparently didn't even exist! Bobby Ross at German Auto Group found the problem, called to explain what was going on and took care of it. I was treated with courtesy and respect, unlike my experience at the dealership. My car is running beautifully and best of all, I paid 1/4 what the dealer had quoted me. Thank you Bobby and thank you German Auto Group...you're the BEST!!!

My wife and I own an older VW and AUDI. Having tired of the lack of service and the high costs associated with dealers we decided to give our business to German Auto Group based on a recommendation from a person in our neighborhood. We greatly appreciate the exceptional customer service and dedication of their entire staff and their willingness to patiently work with us to resolve the tricky intermittent oil leak and associated smell. We cannot say enough about theirattentive service, commitment to quality and value, and their kind assistance with logistics in getting our cars back and forth.

This shop has a nice waiting area and is clean and well equipped, the work done is average but there charges are excessive. This place is so expensive, that even the Mercedes and Porsche dealerships charge less!!! They really do not offer any better service than other shops, and they are very arrogant.
Save some money and try another place with more humble and personable people and lower prices like smaller independent specialists or otherwise stick to the dealerships.
Please me or email me your name and the date that we fixed your car and what we did because your email does not reflect whatsoever of what we are especially our pricing compared to dealership and our friendly customer service according to our customers

I am thanking a friend that told me about German auto group. They took care of my car. The price was half what I was qouted elsewhere. Thank goodness with the holidays coming the savings will be useful. I have referred my frieds with BMW's VOLVO's and MERCEDE's.

I have a 911TT with some suspension problems and the dealer and other shops could not get corrected, German Auto Group not only fixed the car but they did it in 1 days and the job done properly.
Thank you Guys

I took my Porsche 911 to a nearby competitor for the recommended service and I was quoted $1,200. I then went to German Auto Group and they quoted me $870. I was dubious at first, but figured I give them a try. Not only did they do all of the services for the price they quoted me, but the work was done on time. This is where I'll be bringing my baby from now on. The technician, Taylor, knows everything there is to know about Porsches. I'll be bringing my wife's Mercedes here for sure! Where have these guys been?! Northern Virginians you don't know how lucky you are to have a place like this. Honesty and great prices!
