First time visit, very nice place. Greeted with a smile, I was using a coupon and was told to go for the best bed since it was free. I am from out of town, so chance for more than a visit or two was minimal, and still wasnt given anything but extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful attention. Helios Tanning Studio has taken place of Dark tanning salon. I was pleasantly surprised when renewing my tanning package here. The Velocity tanning bed works great & I never burn. They have affordable, custom spray tans & their spray tan tech is very thorough. I'm glad they revived their reputation at this location. I will be back.

The tanning bed got me tan. I won't complain about that. But I got the 1 month commitment & when I told them I wanted to stop going, they said "oh, okay we'll take care of it for you don't worry".. It took me three months to realize they were taking $65 out every month and I didn't even know. They won't give me my money back because I signed that stupid contract. They tricked me by thinking they were going to take care of it for me.
Thank goodness I just bought a single tan. The girl at the from was rude first off and the tanning bed had three hairs on it! I didn't want to even tan! Also i tan often and I can tell when I'm getting tan but the level 4 bed was cold the whole time with all the fans off. I didn't get any color at all. Very disappointed Looks like a nice tanning place but I would never tan here and I wouldn't want anyone to spend there money on this place cause I feel like I wasted $15 on one tan! And I've never been disappointed with a tanning place before. Don't go here!
As a previous employee, I can concur with some of the previous reviewa. For the sake of honesty. Hawaiian Sun does have good equipment(at some locations) and good product. But you do pay premium prices. We were all (employees) encouraged to rate the salons with excellent ratings and bogus reviews. My biggest qualm with the company is simply that the owner is money hungry (almost all owners are) but he does so to the determent of his staff. When I started my employment with them we ran great deals that could be affordable, but with every passing month they made it harder and harder on the customer and there is always a catch that makes you end up spending much more than you wanted. My advice, read the agreement totally. Ask the staff to give you a break down in cost, and always realize that if it sounds to good to be true it is. Give the staff a break some of them are complete air heads but some are nice girls just trying to get a paycheck which isn't easy at this company. They have to put up with a lot and the longer you stay the worse it gets. Realize many of the employees are working for minimum wage and are pushed to max hours, it is even worse if you are a manager, you are looking at a lady who has to work 45+ hours and hold themselves to an extremely high standard with little to no praise or thanks and paltry compensation. Overall, due to my stance on how they treat their employees. Just remember that it isn't always the employee behind the counter that is to be blame every part of their job is scripted, their jobs are never safe and they know that if they make a wrong step or even if they follow procedure there will be no one there to back them up.
