Overall

Dont do business with this place. I am a firearms dealer, I sent them a SIG pistol to be refinished, they told me 2 weeks and were super nice.

Long story short they said it was done and they would hip it to me. Its been nearly 2 months and I do not have it. They do not reply to emails and as of this morning their phones are now disconnected..

I have called atf and will be filing a police report on Tuesday.

Overall

I checked out Minuteman Tactical because they were recommended as a Cerakote applicator. The store has very little merchandise and very few guns, so my conclusion was that their bread and butter had to be special orders, gunsmithing, and refinishing. I asked them to Cerakote an AR that was all still new and in pieces, and when finished, to install the barrel. They quoted two and a half weeks, and at three weeks they called me because it was done. I drove over an hour down to get it, and was VERY disappointed. There were shadows, thin spots, and completely missed spots on almost every part. George, their "Cerakote Expert" did not admit to me that it was his poor work when I pointed out the flaws, but he did assure me that it would be made right in three days and shipped back to me. He said he would call me with a tracking number. He didn't.

At four days after, I called and received no response. At five days after, I called and received no response. At six days after, I got hold of George, who explained that the second attempt had failed, that it was blasted off, and a third attempt was in the works. He did call me after a week with tracking info.

What I received, as his best attempt of three, was better than the first, but still inconsistent in color from one piece to the next. The texture and sheen of the finish varied, with smooth, shiny areas and grainy, matte areas on the same part. It still had very small missed spots, and the thing that just floored me was that for the third attempt, he did not disassemble the upper/barrel/nut before blasting and refinishing. My chamber was caked with blast media, and my barrel nut had overspray that is visible when assembled.

Clearly, their "expert" isn't. I have done some refinishing myself and achieved far better results. When I pay a professional, I expect a result that is better than I could do. I am not pleased that their "expert" used my rifle to figure out what not to do. Minuteman Tactical fails on the quality of their workmanship, their near total lack of quality control, and poor communication.

Perhaps the name Minuteman is apt. This looks like the kind of place that will be in business one minute, and out of business the next.
