Ed's Mobile RV Service

We live in Spring Hill, where Ed's business is located. Our rooftop air conditioner stopped working and we were planning a trip so wanted a resolution within a couple of days. I called multiple mobile repair companies and had two potential appointments for later in the week.

Ed phoned after 3 and said he could come by that afternoon on his way home. I was more than pleased. He drove in the driveway about 4:15, climbed on the roof of the RV, pulled the AC capacitor, and verified it had failed. He had one in his truck. Again, I was pleased. He replaced the capacitor and by shortly after 3:30 was packed up with our AC running cold.

So we were pleased that it was a simple fix and that he was able to come during working hours. Our disappointment was that his bill came to $100 for the service call, $90 for labor hours, and $56+ for the capacitor.

Despite the fact that Ed fixed our AC unit, we will not have him back as we feel $190 for a 1/2 hour of work on his way home was an overcharge and that he should have indicated up front that he had both the service charge of $100 and a minimum of 1 hour labor charge at $90 per hour, unless his labor charge is $180/hr.
