Crossed the line

Went to hunter veterinary clinic because of its rating online...within 5 minutes I knew it wasn't the place for us. I have a 10 month old German Shepard... It was our first time in the office and he was curiously walking around (on a leash). He kept quiet while a random cat wandered the halls of the clinic but barked when another dog entered the waiting room. Both dogs barked for maybe 20 seconds, before Dr. Hunter was less than a foot from my face... He was very rude and said that if my dog is going to bark that I need to wait outside. I expected a little more patience toward animals at a vets clinic. If it wasn't for my two little boys being excited about their puppies 1st Doctor visit I would have left right then. We had another veterinarian when we were called into a room, he was alright but it was obvious that the assistant wasn't happy working with him. They weren't very friendly and we will not be going back there.

I took my dog in to this Vet d...

I took my dog in to this Vet due to him getting hung up on a barb wire fence which tore his skin back. When we got there, even though it was busy, Dr Hunter came out and looked at it and said he could get him stitched up. So i left my dog there. When we came back to pick him up everything seemed fine. When I asked how many stitches my dog got he said he was unsure because he was to busy to do it so he had another vet do it.. Dr Hunter was not very forthcoming with what do do for follow up He said if bandage fell off due to location not to put another one on. When i got to where I was staying i started looking at the wound and stitch job I became concerned. They did not shave the area. They did not clean or trim up the edges of the wound for a good stitch. The vet who stitched it up did absolutely nothing but fold up the skin and sowed it together. I was told by Dr Hunter that it was a good stitch job so they would have to be taken out in 2 weeks. Within 2 days the stitches started to fall out and the wound reopened. When I got back to where I lived I took him to my vet. They were good about not saying bad things but to make a long story short it was a horrible stitch up job and the reason it probably got infected was Hunter Vet clinic did not shave area but stitched right thru the hair. And the stitch work was very sub par and my vet had to put my dog under again reopen the wound clean up the edges put in a drain tube and re-stitch it up the proper way. Even though Dr Hunter was not the one to do the work, he should be responsible for the work performed by his vets. I do not think he even looked at the work performed I was very happy about learning that he was voted the best vet in Spokane when I brought my dog in but now do to the quality of medical work performed on my dog I would not recommend them. It started out as a simple stitch job and turned into a bad experience for me and my dog

I've taken my dog here a few times, and I will say the receptionists have always been friendly and helpful towards me. The vet always seems busy and as if he's thinking about his next patient, but my dog has never been harmed there. I only say three stars because they are so dang expensive I can't go there anymore.

go elsewhere

The only thing this vet cares about is money, they make up the bill as they go charging extra where ever they think they can get it, i.e. 80 for visit 50 for meds another 40 for meds 140 for blood work another 30 for 1 more med 25 for nail clip that hurt my dog by not paying attention and the so called "doctor" could care less if my dog was hurting. No compassion what so ever. Spent all of 8 or 9 minutes and concluded the meds would make her better. Not even close to better, made her worse than she started. had to take my dog to another vet and got the service my dog needed.

Why are so many vets so money hungry? Maybe they weren't smart enough to be a real doctor.

Service doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Overall
Bad Vet Service

I went to this clinic because it was voted #1 on the Z Best of Spokane. I called and set up an appointment for my puppy. I was told that the first visit was complimentary. I told the receptionist that I had many questions and concerns to talk to the vet about since my puppy was sick and that I would pay for the first visit because I wanted a thorough checkup. She said that first visit would still be free. So I took my puppy in and sat in the waiting room and was ignored for 10 minutes while standing at the front desk. The waiting room was filthy and small. Finally, one of the ladies working there acknowledged me and said I needed to fill out paperwork which I could have been doing during those 10 minutes I was ignored. After while, I was called back and introduced to the rude vet. The whole visit was a whirlwind. I tried to ask question and was ignored by the vet. My puppy had a bloated tummy and I suspected worms and I had to ask him three times to please give my puppy deworming medicine before he finally listened and popped a pill into my puppy's mouth. Than before I knew it, he was out of the room. I had to ask the receptionist the questions I had instead of the vet and she could only answer a few since she was busy. Some of the staff, like the vet assistant was nice, but seemed nervous. It was a horrible appointment. I never went back. I went to a new vet, who spent 30 minutes checking out my puppy and answering my questions. It turns out my puppy did I have worms, needed another round of deworming and issues with his ears. He is now healthy and happy and so am I!
