Saluda River Pet Food Center

Just went in to find something new for my picky senior dog. It was the end of the day, but April and Carlos were so cheerful and very helpful. The store smelled fresh and stock on the shelves looked great. I wanted to find brands listed in a review for senior dog food at Animalso.com. Saluda River has them-Fromm, Natural Instinct, Merrick, Taste of the wild, Holistic Select, Canidae, Blue Buffalo. Carlos told me about two brands I considered; one with two protein sources and the other with an overall balance of nutrition. April helped me pick out a small bag of raw diet to try. SR's selection and prices beat the local PetSmart, who only had three of the reviewed brands and the best price I found was 16.99/5lbs. I found the Taste of the wild brand in the review for 13.99/5lbs. Their price matched chewy.com, but you know what? Chewy.com doesn't have Carlos and April! And they aren't in my hometown! I buy my dog and cat food from the Simpsonville, SC store. Great customer service. I have always been greeted with a smiling face and "is there anything we can help you find today?" question or remark of similar wording. Most of the time, the staff is knowledgeable about the products and if they can't answer out, they will do their best to find someone who can. Nice clean store.

I've been going to Saluda River for various pet products. They are very knowledgable about all the products they carry. They also have good advice on product safety and they even helped me make a pet first aid kit. I think of Saluda River Pet Supply as my pet information headquarters.

I called to inquire about getting information on guinea pigs, gerbils, and an Iguana. Had to ask for the "gentleman's" name. Asked about any discount as I had to buy 3 pets with 3 containers. He was rude and hurried. And although he is 15 minutes from me, and cheaper... I will be going somewhere else. I also told him that his listing is incorrect by all of the information listed on the yellowpages.com site that his Simpsonville store showed the correct street address and phone number but it also showed it was in Greenville. I told Rick that for anyone that does not know much about either area, it was very confusing. His response to me was "well, I have 2 stores and one is in Greenville".
