The Local Peasant

I have been here a few times with friends. Definitely gets crowded and a bit loud but the food is always good.

The city vibe comes to Sherman Oaks! This place is like Firefly in that it has a sumptuous blend of scene, snack and sophistication. The food's locally sourced food and does not sacrifice taste in its socially conscious pursuit. My only hesitation to give this one my total recommendation is that it will get MORE crowded. Already an issue on Friday and Saturday nights. But hey, date night in the 91403 is alive and well.

The Local Pleasant just opened and I had a good dinner there. The menu is pretty diverse for a bar including appetizers, salads and tons of burgers. Draft beer selection is solid. Staff is very nice. The best part is the place has tons of seating and room to stand by the bar. They have a very big back area as well. It is a lot like Laurel Tavern in Studio City but only bigger.
